...and she won...
This has nothing to do with boxing, I know,
but why isn't age not so big a deal in tennis?
If this is boxing we'll hear fans say, "He's fighting a grandpa,"
"He just beat a guy in his mid-life crisis," and so on...
Serena was beating fair and square. What's all these excuses? Shez had her moments in the game and she is a fantastic player... Give credit to the winner and move on.
Phck tennis! how do you think these two woman would fare in an mma type battle?? I’d like to see little miss Romania wiggle her way out of Serena’s rear naked choke.
I don’t actually know what that is but it sounds like something I’d like to see
So you're saying age doesn't matter even in boxing or any contact sport.
Precisely the theme of this thread. I see.
Now you're on record and can't make age as an excuse anymore here.

Serena is 37 and still made it to a Grand Slam final. The girl that beat her is 18 years younger than her.
That's pretty impressive even in defeat if you ask me.

Because Serena just beat 6 women to get to the final...she is arguably the greatest woman's tennis player ever, and she is still ranked top 10 right now - and that isn't a mythical top 10 ranking, that is earned throughout the year.
She also just made the final of the last two majors, beating 6 women to get there each time...if she was going out first round no one would really give that person a ton of credit.
And if anyone is keeping score, I always enjoy it when Serena loses, she is hard to root for.
To put it another way - if Pac just beat 6 solid fighters then lost a UD to Crawford...well no one would really be saying that Pac is that shot.
...and she won...

Serena is treated like a sacred cow by the media. You're not allowed to say anything critical without being accused of being sexist or racist. Her best days are behind her. Even though she's still a good player for her age it's no reason to put her on a pedestal and pretend she's the greatest athlete alive.
