Loma is 100 times better than Yarde. He fought a guy who came in way over weight and hit him low countless times and got away with it. Many thought Loma deserved to win that fight. Loma went on to greatness. Yarde only won a couple of rounds and lost the rest and was KOed with a jab. How can you compare the two fights? Quit pushing Yarde as some special fighter who only lacked experience. He lost and he is done. Like Kovalev said, he is not a lion but just a kitten. Yarde will probably go nowhere. Don't try to make them similar in ability because Loma is an all time great and Yarde is just an average fighter who can punch hard. Such a low amount of experience and yet to hang in there with Kovalev and almost beat him in the same way Ortiz almost beat Wilder. It's a pretty incredible achievement even though he got knocked out late in the fight, primarily due to exhaustion and again, lack of experience in how to pace yourself over a 12 round fight. Do you think Loma would have stood any chance against Salido if it'd only been his 30th fight as amateur/pro combined? It took Loma around 400 fights to get to the level he's at now. Loma finished strong. He was pacing himself for a 12 round fight and it cost him. Salido had a lot of dirty tactics in that fight, but that is what you get when you fight a veteran.

Yarde was brave and showed a lot of heart and balls - but he was also too easy to hit. He took a lot of punishment and was stopped by a jab in the end. You could argue that Loma had 300 amateur fights and Yarde had 12 and 18 pro cherry picks, but Loma didn't take a beating and get stopped. Props to Yarde for giving it everything though. I think I actually saw him throw up water inbetween rounds.

Plus Loma was finishing strong and really should have won that fight IMO if the ref deducted points he should have, whereas Yarde did get KOd by a jab. Both were good tho, takes risks, don't worry so much about keeping an 0 at all costs, should be more of it.

... At least, Yarde fought "clean"... ... Salido didn't even make weight and he didn't get points deducted for dirty boxing... but whatever... :)
