Are there any urban legends or folklores in boxing that captivates you?
I ask because long time ago an old buddy of mine who's dad runs a karate dojo told me a story about an odd person coming to the dojo and performing techniques in a majestic movie like ways and going to the next dojo and doing the same and then simply disappearing from the scene sort of speak.
I don't know, I just wondered if there are any interesting tales that oozes intrigue and mystery since boxing produces so much greatness and yet the boxing gym itself seems so dingy in cosmetics but it produces magnificence.
Off the top of my head.
Willie pep won a round without throwing a punch
Roberto Duran knocked out a horse.
Joe Louis threw a silver dollar to kid in the audience and that kid ended up being Muhammad Ali. (I think that one is true)
Damn that's crazy!
I have never heard this before but regardless it sounds pretty badass.
The thing is, boxing has a certain charm and magic to it and it has a rich history and many styles of boxing have made it to the world stage and every style has a story.
