Spence easily walks around at 175+, maybe even 180+. Should Manny insist on a rehydration clause so Spence can’t inflate higher than say 157 or so?
I fully support rehydration clauses for all fights, and this one in particular would make sense for Manny.
Why would Pac do that? He didn’t insist on Keef doing VADA testing, why would he insist on rehydration clause for Spence? Pac isn’t really into all those sort of demands.
VADA testing Manny lol, testing is a two way street one does it so does the other, why Manny wasnt tested by VADA going into a big fight is very strange, signs for 360 testing and is not tested leading up to a big PPV thats weird.
Now weight stipulations is a one way street and Manny has made many of those sorts of demands, actually a career of them.
160-162 is A LOT more realistic than thinking he is going to come in at 167-170.
I don't understand how people think the man magically goes from 155.5 pounds at 8 am to 170 pounds within 12 hours.
I know some UFC fighters who go up 15 to 20 pounds in 24 hours after weigh ins. I think Spence is 160 on fight night or 162, he said his walk around weigh is around 175.
In training cAmp they diet so he will lose at least 7 to 10 pounds fat. Then they will sap water for him to be healthy he has to hydrate to at least 160 pounds. I dont like the
IBF rule though of having to restrict them under ten pound rehydrations its dangerous. It could weaken a fighter and cause them not to get enough fluid in the brain.
Antonio Margarito when he fought pacman was 168 pounds the morning of the fight, eaner who posts on here and was working with margarito posted the day of and said he was 168 pounds so margarito was probably 172 on fight night.
The only other fighter i remember who ballooned the next day was joshua clottey, one of his fights he rehydrated to the low 170s. Some guys are good at sapping water to make weight and then hydrating.
The most Spence was going to gain he would have already gained after the initial weigh in and after his sleep. He's not going to just gain 8 pounds from 3 pm to 8 am the next day to then gaining an additional 12 points from 8 am to 8 pm. I mean you give an scenario where it can happen, but that is unrealistic here and obviously not something Spence or anyone else would be doing.
Yes Im agreeing with you showing how unrealistic it is , a 1000ml IV every 2 hrs which is redicules and would make a very puffy water logged fighter because its not at cell level. In rare occasions like Gatti 20lb rehydration still takes 30hrs not 12.
Fanboys like to make their enemies as monster as can be, the bigger they are the bigger the win if they beat them, and the less the loss if they lose to them
Not counting food, its all water 15lbs of water is about 6ltrs or a gallon and 1/2 , its possible but its a lot of gain in 12hrs that could only be done with IV if you want it in the system not the gut and thats a IV bag every 2hrs.
People in here have some very skewed ideas of weight in fighters, the vast majority of full blown WWs that hit 147 weigh-in will be 158-165 on fight night. The bigger guys will dry out more to make weight so the smaller guys might weigh-in the same or near but they didnt dry out so wont gain much at all come fight night.

he wont be 170 but he was probably 162 on fight night.

Yep, they have their weigh ins at 8 am. And there is a reason for that.
Also, just found out he weighed in at 155.5 pounds against Mikey in the 2nd day weigh in. So there is absolutely NO way in hell he was 167-170 12 hours later in the ring.
he wont be 170 but he was probably 162 on fight night.
Yet Spence avoids the question of his weight entering the ring. Gives a half hearted answer and refuses to reveal his walk around weight.
So now that we have the data to show Spence weighed in at 155.5 at 8 am the day of the Mikey Garcia fight, how many pounds do you think he gained in the next 12 hours before he entered the ring?

Yeah whoever suggest that is insane, errol could die from punches swelling his brain if he doesn't get enough fluids in.
He would have to restrict his meals and fluids for up to an hour before the fight lol wtf? Dudes brain would have no fluid.
The ibf second day weigh in is at like 7 or 8 am.

The guy you were responding to wants a 10 pound rehydration clause an hour before the fight.
No, the IBF changed their rules. For unification bouts, the 10 pound rehydration clause doesn't apply anymore. So for Spence vs Porter which is a unification bout, neither fighter has to abide by the IBF rules as there will be no morning weigh in.

You guys make me laugh. You think it’s actually ok for fighters to enter the ring twenty pounds heavier than their opponent as welters. Unless of course they are fighting Floyd, then they must meet very unique demands, while he is granted an exception for illegal IV three weeks later. Perfectly normal.
YOU make me laugh in thinking you can have an agreement where the opponent weighs in an hour before the fight. YOU make me laugh in thinking Spence will be 20 pounds heavier than Pacquiao fight night. Please explain to me how Spence weighs in at 157 or lower every morning of the fight, and then gains an additional 10-13 pounds in the next 12 hours? I'll wait.......And I'm guessing I will be waiting a LONG time since you won't be able to show any proof that he comes in at 167-170 in the ring.
If you are THAT worried about Pacquiao, then just hope the fight doesn't happen. No one is forcing Pacquiao to take the fight. He's done more than enough in the game that he could hang them up or take on an easier touch next time out. But get out of here trying to make up BS claims and BS stipulations that will never happen.
It’s funny seeing the floydboy posts in here. We all know if pacquiao was as btch made as mayweather this fight would have real odds of spence being made to fight at a catchweight with a rehydration clause, floyd always sees what he can get and spence is the kind of guy that would likely concede to those demands.
Oh yea, he’d definitely be forced to wear pillow gloves too.

Why would Pac do that? He didn’t insist on Keef doing VADA testing, why would he insist on rehydration clause for Spence? Pac isn’t really into all those sort of demands.
i agree
Pac didn't even complained when Margarito blown up 20 lbs. heavier & despite absorbing power punches from a super middleweight

Being that Pac is new to the WW division, he should definitely make clauses all the other WW make :boxing: !!!!!
10yrs 17 fights at WW and they still want weight stipulations put onto the WC of the division,,,,,,lol only Manny fans call for such BS.
Who wants a 10 pound rehydration limit and hour before the fight?
And unless Spence wants to vacate his title then there will be a rehydration clause even in unification fights. Various titles will be on the line so if Spence violates the IBF rules he wont be getting to keep the belt and only Pacman will be eligible to fight for it. So the 10 pound IBF rule still applies for that belt. Or else Spence would lose the belt the next day if he goes above 10 pounds at 8 am in the morning.
Spence probably puts on an extra 5 pounds of water after the 8 am day of the fight weigh in so he will have 15 pounds on him its no big deal.
The guy you were responding to wants a 10 pound rehydration clause an hour before the fight.
