He's good, but needs experience to sound smooth. He could definitely get there because he has the charm and personality, which is the one thing you can't learn and the one thing most boxers lack on the mic.
I thought the OP was kidding too, but apparently there's a few people who thought Wilder was a good commentator...:lol1:
I can kind of understand where they're coming from though. Wilder does have that happy, energetic, good attitude and I enjoy his presence ...even though he really fumbles when it comes to speaking and clearly expressing himself. Lennox is just as bad though...At least Wilder seems excited to be there. The commentating for the fight is sometimes a fun train wreck. The audience must be shaking their head ...but it's hilarious sometimes because of how moronic they sound. I can't blame Lennox and Wilder though...They're fighters , not geniuses.
If you put Wilder next to someone like Paulie who could speak well and break the action down, then there is a role for him.

I prefer Wilder to Lewis too because he understands that "less is more"
shut the **** up and let me watch the fight. I like that Wilder will be silent for 2 minutes watching and then say something. I don't need Lewis talking the entire round.
This is a joke right? The man adds great energy and enthusiasm to the broadcast but that's it. He butchers every fighter's name and hardly ever makes sense.
Having him and Lennox paired together was a tough listen.

You could tell wilder and Tank rehearsed that....
The team prior to the event went over the interview and what questions would be asked with Wilder and Tank, its why Lewis isn't there the guy Wilder was going off on and leading. lol
No shiz. But hes still pretty good considering hes from Alabama.
I'm not surprised by Wilder's ability on the mic. I think his father is a pastor or a preacher and it shows. Wilder always speaks with emotion and passion just like a good pastor/preacher. Hate him or love him, Wilder has charisma. That being said, I don't think he gives the best technical analysis of the fight like a Paulie would.
He's got great energy, all wound up just like he is as a fighter. The words don't always come out right but he loves to be there and it rubs off, been a fun card. Gotta hold the mic better though lol
Bro i was thinking the same. He’s actually pretty damn good. I know hes not the best speaker but im sure i can speak for all of us when i say i rather hear actual former fighters give their take instead of some middle aged man thats never laced up. His comments have been on point and genuine
