Bivol wont go down in weight for someone of Saunders' stature, and BJS would be hella ballsy to take a fight at 175 since he fought at MW a year or so ago.
Interesting fight though.
I don’t think Bivol would go down in weight unless it was really worth it, i.e a Canelo fight.
BJS is really high risk and low reward in a way. Bivol is already a world champ, he doesn’t NEED Saunders or that WBO 168 belt, so it’s not enough of an incentive to drop down a weight class and possibly land yourself in a very difficult fight when the reward isn’t great.
We can all have an opinion on who will win but the reality is that fighters look at Saunders and just think why take that fight when there’s much easier fights for similar money. Saunders at his best is no joke and just a difficult fight for anybody, especially when doesn’t bring much to the table financially.
Even Hearn said Callum Smith and his team want big money for a BJS fight because they know it’s very difficult fight.
Bivol is a network free agent, far as DAZN is concerned, but he is promoted by Eddie Hearn and Matchroom. His secondary promoters are WOB and Duva. He's paying out to three promoters it sounds like so if they can't pool money together to get him a big fight, he is giving away a lot of his paycheck for nothing.
And I agree with you, Hearn never even brings Bivol up. Reminds me of Luis Ortiz with Hearn or something. Hope Im wrong. 168-175 is not half as exciting without maybe the best guy in the mix.
I actually heard on some podcast and it may have been Mannix's, I don't recall, but that Bivol only had like a one fight deal with Hearn.
But it's weird because we haven't really heard him try to get in talks with TR to get in the LHW mix since they have pretty much all the top ones in that division.
Does he promote him? Word is that Bivol is a network free agent. Regardless, doesn't seem like Hearn has much stake in his career and he wouldn't give Bivol the BJS fight before he would give it to either Smith or Jacobs.

What is Bivol to him? He promotes Bivol! Although I agree with you, sure doesnt seem like it lately.
And any top boxer from outside the UK coming to the UK to fight a top UK fighter becomes a huge fight. Imagine if all the UK had was MLS soccer, with no stars. They wouldnt just come out in force when Ronaldo or Messi came to UK shores to play a game a few times per year, they would come out any time they got a chance to see ANY top foreign talent come to their shores, whether Hazard, even Dybala, any top foreign talent.
Its become the same with boxing. Bivol vs Saunders in the UK, with the allure of Bivol coming to UK shores for a big fight between two titlists, and with the trash talking of Saunders and the promotional push of Matchroom, would sell 15k to 20k in the UK. It might not sell 20k-25k like Smith vs Saunders, but who is Smith really? Hes not regarded as the same talent as Bivol and he fights in the UK all the time. Bivol coming over is more of an event. So for all we know those fights are equal in economic value on UK soil, but Smith will have other opportunities. If Hearn doesnt get Bivol either Smith or Saunders before they fight each other first, Bivol wont fight a big fight for years. Its Saunders, Smith, or bust.

Lol no, why would Hearn do that? What is Bivol to him?
You sign BJS and apparently give him big bucks to put him in the mix against the MWs or guys at 168 like Jacobs or Smith. A big UK showdown....Well fairly big UK showdown would be Smith vs BJS.

I pray! What a match up!
I would favor Smith I guess but BJS is such a good boxer it could be very close.
I don’t think Smith takes the fight to be honest because I don’t think it’s worth the risk for him.
I have a feeling BJS ends up back at 160 to challenge in that unification race again.
Smith? The topic you replied to is Bivol vs Saunders not Smith vs Saunders. Saunders is a top boxer from the UK, Bivol is a top boxer from not the UK. Whenever a top non-UK boxer comes to the UK to fight a top UK boxer, it sells out, like every time. Social media is a different animal these days. Bivol isnt a big name in the UK right now but it wont matter. Hes boxed in the UK before, hes known as a LHW champion there, and Callum Johnson boxed on his undercard. He is promoted by Eddie Hearn and UK fans know all about the guys Hearn signs. Bivol vs Saunders would sell 15k to 20k in the UK I believe.
