Wrong liar the 70s wasn't close to 90s skills you need to watch matches anybody with good vision can see 90s had way more skills
Okay but why are you telling me this 2 years later?
But you people say Usyk can`t beat Joshua or Fury because he is too small, even though he has elite skills.
Hoy could even smaller men from the past do that? usyk was the same size as Larry holmes back in the early 80’s which kinda shows you he is as good or even better than them....usyk would play with foreman and people need to start understanding just how good this kid is.......he’s a nightmare for anybody
70s is more romanticized and was probably better in terms of pure technical skills, BUT tbh I think h2h wise the 90s guys beat the 70s guys. I just feel like there was a significant evolution between the 70s and the 90s when it came to s&c stuff and well....PEDs. The 90s crew match up well in terms of raw physical attributes with the current crop, but they were also in the same ballpark of actual boxing skills as the 70s guys.

Ali would be dwarfed compared with Lewis ...245lb with great skills and Ali 220lb.
Im not one of these guys that let nostalgia get in the way of common sense.
As I said Lewis resume is the best heavyweight of his era and would be a difficult fight for Ali.
I love Ali and he was great but that was a different era and things evolve
Why do you people always say nostalgia its called crazy anybody with good vision can see the 90s had way more advanced skills and were more heavy only crazy idiots pick a outdated era over more advanced
Frazier is too small
Ali and foreman would've beat almost everyone
Holmes too
But that's just 3 guys
No ali george and Larry wouldn't beat mid/top guys of the 90s why did you say that stupid comment your crazy those guys were outdated compared
1970s was greater
But head to head matchups 90s guys would win more
Only like Ali and foreman and Holmes can beat the 90s guys
Don't know why you said that dumb comment none of those dudes would beat mid/top guys from 90s george was trash and ali was basic compared
Only crazy people say 70s its always the same names they repeat geoege ali joe earnie Lyle young all of those dudes and the whole era is way less advanced then 90s
All I know is Fury/Wilder/Joshua would not be holding titles in either the 70’s or 90’s. They’d be second tier at best. Fury would have the best chance due to his boxing and mental game but he’d get his fat body worked & punched to pieces by Shavers/Foreman/Vander/Tyson/Bowe/Mercer/Frazier/Holmes. Forget Lewis & Ali who make him their butler.

I enjoy watching guys like Ellis, Lyle, prime Foreman, Quarry, Norton, Shavers...more than anything from 90s era.
Don`t forget than prime Ali is from 60s, when he fought guys like Patterson, Linston, Cooper, Chuvalo, Folley..

Fury sends home everyone on that list in an ambulance.
The two best heavyweight era . 70s was greater fighters had more heart the best fought the best.
in terms of pure ability, the champion tier 70s Ali prime Holmes prime foreman prime Norton Frazier jimmy young. 90s Lewis prime Holyfield prime bowe old foreman Tyson Moore. Probably 70s a little bit better.
But contender tier 90s was on another level. You got guys like tua ibeabuchi Chris byrd ray mercer Morrison McCall rahman golota the klitschkos etc.alot of 70s contenders were small cruiser weights, and some lacked skills.
Also I feel like tim Witherspoon is very overlooked Terrifying power in that overhand right he knocked serval giant heavyweights semi dead with one big clean overhand right, on par with wilder’s straight right, decent hand speed for a heavyweight,Good chin,Could box could slug very good boxing Iq naturally pretty big guy even by today’s standard, although his peak was in the 80s he started his career at the end of the 70s finished his career at the end of 90s. Him and Holmes were probably the only two heavyweights in the 80s who didn’t have serious drink&drug or substance abuse problems during the peak of roids 80s&90s&early2000s the time heavyweights started to grow into super heavyweights today heavyweight’s average weight is around 250 even guys around 6’2 are massive.
no your right and yes I do believe up to a certain weight your more effective and beyond that it then works against you....my opinion was on Lewis who did start at 232lbs and then grew into a very big and athletic 245lbs.....the Lewis that schooled tua and destroyed Golota and Rachman would be a very hard man to beat and that includes Ali.....Lewis would be great in any era and would become champion no matter if 1920,1950 or 1970.
Lewis has it all
I was not really debating with you on Lennox Lewis, I agree with your opinion on Lennox Lewis.
I was mainly just expressing my observations on super-heavyweights these days. 'It is a cultural change within the game, where people seem to favor them automatically'.
A lot of fighters body build there way to higher weights these days. 'Lennox Lewis naturally transitioned up to 245 pounds +'.
Also I factor in such things as? If certain fighters where fighting in certain era's, then their entire lifestyle would be altered. 'Lennox Lewis due to his training regime, would be able to fight in any era'.
Mike Tyson was a throw back fighter in his style and approach to training, he would adapt to any era in my opinion also.
