Rounds 1, 5, and 10. He visibly had Keith in those rounds but didn't finish him off.
Especially after round 5, he saw Keith walking back to his corner all bloodied and wobbly. Rounds 6-9, Manny was on defense and just light potshotting. Rounds 6-9 Keith was out there to hurt Manny.

Whether conscious or subconscious, he held back. After seeing Keith seriously get hurt.
Roach revealed what Manny told him, that if he feels he's ahead of the scorehards, he didn't have to hurt his opponents, just win on points.
If there's ever a case for retirement, it should be this one. Boxing is a hurt business, not charity. His jesus-complex will only hurt him.
just a crazy crazy idea. why not pac fight canelo at CW 155 in MW. that would be really huge fight. and the ideal retirement paycheck for pac. just make sure he doesnt go down like khan. lol
if by some MIRACLE pac won, wouldn't that be another effin history in boxing? but i doubt that'll ever happen.
I agree, if Manny could have stopped him he would have, he tried but not to the point of being reckless, Thurman was always one punch dangerous, there were times Thurman had Manny in a spot of bother and the same deal Keith just couldnt press more because both guys were giving their all and gassing in spots, it was a quality fight and in hindsight the speed difference made all the difference, you cant punch wide and be slow with a fast combo guy like Manny.I couldn't have been more proud of both guys. They both displayed tremendous championship hearts. Neither guy gave an inch and both gave as good as they got. Boxing won that night. It was fun night of boxing and a fun night for boxing fans.
Pacquiao frustrates his opponents and forces them to think and change their game plan. How many times have we heard fighters who trash talked ahead of the fight say that they didn’t realize how fast he would be until they got in the ring with him. They underestimate him and are forced to fight a different fight once they are in the ring.
He definitely lost some of his killer instinct when he found religion. The KO loss to Marquez was further motivation for him to make adjustments and not take as many punches or risks on the inside.
Duran, Pacquiao, Loma, are gifted fighters who only come along once in a generation. We are fortunate to have witnessed their careers in our lifetime.
I can agree with that.
Manny is a speed kills kind of fighter. He might knock you down but does he really hurt you to the point of just one big shot will put you out? It hasn't been that way for a long time. Just like when he fought Chris Algeri and knocked him down all those times.
It's the same with Loma. People are overwhelmed. It not so much the power but the angles and speed that make guys quit.
I think manny knows that hes not some big KO puncher. I think he knows if he catches you think boom 2 points that round. But for the most part he doesnt carry a lot of power. That's why he back off a lot and resets. He wants to catch guys again like he did chris.

Of course the old Manny is not back. He is 40 years old. Besides, Keith is a very big welterweight. Pac, would have had to expend a lot of energy getting Thurman out of there.
Also, you underestimating "One Time's" heart. He is a tough cookie and proved he wasn't going down without a fight. He had to fight Pac off of him and he did.
Besides, Manny didn't need the knock out. I thought he done more than enough to win the fight anyhow. All in all it was a very good fight.

I don’t think he was holding back. He fought as hard as he needed to and as hard as his body would allow him to at age 40.
