Manny was clearly very upset at Keith Thurman saying he would crucify him. Manny's anger at this was brought up multiple times and I saw a genuine glimpse of hate flash in Manny's eyes when he was asked about it in an interview.
I truly think this made Pacquiao more aggressive in training and in the fight. I know it's a stretch to think a phrase can have such an influence but to a guy like Pac, I think a comment like that can change his outlook and motivation.
What say you? Did Keith fuk himself over when he made that comment?
Yea it helped Manny be the best Manny he could be
Who knows, even if he missed a step in training and showed up anything less than his absolute best he would have lost. Was a close fight.
A lot of people are forgetting how close it was. Pac was actually losing the KD round (1st). If he didn't land that punch, I'd have Keith winning. The commentary team was drinking the coolaid big time and had everyone believing Pac was coasting to an easy W. I was actually really nervous for Pac in the latter rounds because I knew there was a chance they might give Keith those close rounds.

Watch this and tell me if you think it's a joke. I've never seem pack get so unnerved.
I guess?
I think all the trash talk was purely promotional and Manny knew that.
It won't have been any specific comment imo, but if you're sitting there quiet and respectful while your opponent insults you over and over again, you're going to want to f**k him up come fight night.
Pacquiao's outspoken claim to the universal moral high ground because of his Christian faith is the main reason I always cheer against him now. It's annoying AF when that stuff gets flaunted like crazy.
You been a Pac hater. Who gives a f#ck what you think about the subject

Except he backs it up with plenty of action, he gives plenty to the needy etc, he practices what he preaches.
Keith is done suspected after the Lopez fight confirmed after the Pacquiao fight
Thurman will lose to DSG too if he wants to take that route
Do you think so?
I just thought Pacquiao’s timing, speed and angles gave him problems he hadn’t previously faced. He struggled early on but I felt he found some timing and confidence in the 6th round and showed some good traits throughout the second half of the fight.
I’d still pick him to beat Danny tbh, his style is just all wrong for DSG IMO.
I think a lot of the things Keith said likely impacted Manny's desire to show him up on fight night. I mean f#ck man Manny ended that second(?) round with the Pacquiao shuffle & sh^t.
Outside of Marquez 4, I can't remember the last time I've seen Manny look that hungry. It's been a long time. He wasn't just trying to win exchanges for a points victory this time, he looked like he was trying to hurt the guy.
I think so. Manny is deeply religious, this is the only way to anger Manny and it worked against him. Manny was wild, and was punishing Keith every chance he could.
I’d say it was a contributing factor in terms of motivation for Pacquiao. I think overall Pacquiao just proved he was, even at 40, still a superior fighter to Thurman.
