Pacquiao has said he won't fight again this year. (Although Khan wants to lure him into a Saudi Arabia fight in November or December).
If he ends the decade on this win over Thurman, is it enough to get Pacquiao another Fighter of the Decade award?
I'd go with Joshua, Usky or Crawford. Canelo's run is so tainted along with the beef it isn't even funny, too manufactured to call him the best of anything.
PAC still deserves it. canelo failed multiple tests, should have losses against Lara and GGG. losing against Sergey until the steroids kicked in. disgusting.
Pacquiao's win over Margarito is more impressive than Canelo's win over Kovalev.
This is better than nelo resume.
Nel o 2 gifted decisions to ggg, the so called overrated middleweight who achieved no good wins. Debatable decisions against any decent fighter he faces, cotto, lara.
We've all established the only way Pac won't win fotd again is down to politics
Canelo just stopped Kov at 175.
I'd say fighter of the decade is going to be either him or Pacquiao.
The ones who deserve it in order:
Canelo
Loma
Inoue
GGG
Crawford
GrandPac
Fury
Ward
TBE (not The Best Ever)
B-Hop
You'd give it to Inoue over everyone except Canelo and Loma?
A little guy like Pacquiao did better against Floyd than Canelo.
Canelo lost his first fight to Floyd in 2013, then followed that with 5 catchweight fights at 155, a fight with Chavez JR. at 164, and he's been on the good side of close fights with Trout, Lara, and GGG twice. His 'Regular' title at 168 against Fielding is a joke compared to Pacquiao's win over Thurman.
Don't forget failed drug tests.
Pac's decade -
Thurman (would have been nice if he were active)
Bradley 3x (went life and death vs primitive Ruslan)
JMM 2x (That go to sleep fight. the kind Pac couldn't inflict)
May (Pac's shoulder took one for the team :lol1: )
A bunch of slobs
A few way past their primes
No way does he deserve to be mentioned

If Canelo pulls off a Kov win at 175 before the end of the year, he may get Fighter of the Decade over Pac.
Sources tell The Athletic that Canelo Alvarez and Sergey Kovalev are finalizing a deal to meet in a light heavyweight title fight streamed on DAZN after weeks of talks. The fight, which will be announced in the next week, is expected to take place Nov. 2 at Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena— Mike Coppinger (@MikeCoppinger) September 7, 2019
I think Pac should win it. Pac has did what no natural WW has did in over 100 year history of boxing. A former flyweight being oldest WW champ ever? Are you trying to tell me no natural ww in history has been a champ at 40years of age and a former flyweight with 71 fights is first?
I couldn't believe that stat when I learned that today. You mean all the great natural WWs, srr, srl etc etc couldn't produce goods at 40?
Pac is FOTD again.
For a guy who started the decade at the age of 31 (and already had 15 years of pro fights under his belt) he's accomplished a lot more than most of the young fighters who spent most of the decade in their prime: like Adrien Broner who started the decade at 20, and ended the decade losing to a 40 year old Pacquiao.
Pac or Canelo
Canelo spent most of the decade in his prime but didn't dominate his top level opponents like Mayweather, Trout, Lara, Cotto, or GGG.

Thurman's done more at 147 than any active fighter not named Manny Pacquiao. Spence's best win was against a weight drained Brook, who got his face punched in by GGG. Crawford's best win was against a bum, who got a gift decision against Pac. Porter lost to Thurman, and Garcia lost to both Thurman and Porter. Sure, Thurman looked like shit against Lopez and lost to Pac, but that doesn't detract from his achievements at 147.
Too sensible for these idiots
Hell no. Stop being prisoner of the moment. He has too many losses, and multiple years he wasn't on anybody top pound for pound lists.
He started the decade at the top of the P4P list, and after the Thurman win, he's probably going to end the decade in most P4P top ten lists.
I will let the people decide. 10 years of activity even though I lost a few and some crooked ass judges scoring blind. How many fights did I go through again?
Nobody believes Thurman was the best
