Hell no! They both lost to a bunch of low risk, over achieving and limited opponents. In the weakest heavyweight division that a generation has ever produced.
Wlad is a fair shout. He dominated an era, albeit a weak one but that’s not his fault.
Vitali has a garbage resume and his reputation is based on giving an old out of shape Lewis a tough few rounds before getting his face caved in and stopped. People seem to deny the fact it was Lennox’s punches that did the damage. Vitali got stopped fair and square.
So Vitali is not an ATG, he simply hasn’t got any claims to be. People rate him higher than Wlad simply because he was tougher. Well Dave Allen is probably tougher than Joshua, it doesn’t mean he’s better. Wlad is better than Vitali in almost every other aspect and his achievements show it.
Vitali was up 4-2. Lennox cut him while holding and hitting, an illegal punch. That was pure luck, that the glove happened to graze his eye and cut it open. There is a reason Lennox turned down a career high payday for a rematch.
Fighters can only beat whoever are available to them. It’s not Wlad’s fault that the division was so Shtty.
He faced all the top contenders and beat them.I don’t disagree with what you just said, but the thread asked if the brothers were all-time greats, and I believe the level of competition means as much, of not more, than just notching wins.

Wladimir absolutely is an all time great. Even with the chin, with his ugly losses, he’s guve any HW any era hell. Clearly a ATG heavyweight. Top 10 personally. On size alone I rank fighters like Lewis, Kilitchko, Holmes, Bowe over the 1950’s and before HW. Dempsey, Marciano, Patterson would’ve been crushed by these giants with skill and will.
Longevity might suggest greatness, but Vlad was the beneficiary of a very weak HW era.

I think they are. I rate Vitali higher. He only lost twice due to injuries. He lost on a cut eye and lost another fight due to a thrown out shoulder. He was never knocked down and made 11 successful title defenses of the WBC world heavyweight title. His record was 45 wins with 41 KOs. only 2 losses. Wlad was great at his best but he lost by KO a few times and did not have a great chin like Vitali did.
Wlad was the one who fought the vast majority of the ranked opposition though and basically cleaned out the era.
Vit’s resume is extremely thin.
It’s not the easiest to rate the brothers imo. But if anything, Wlad has a better case as a ATG because he has done more in his career. He has shown the ability to overcome adversity and on top of that, he has shown more dimensions to his game after changing up from an aggressive head hunter to a calculating boxer.
Boliodogs made good points about Vitali but I just dont think Vitali did enough to warrant that status.
Wladimir went over 10 years without losing and that’s special. It’s nearly impossible for most fighters to stay undefeated that long, let alone dominate a division and Wlad did that. Doesnt matter how weak the division is. His consistency and body of work is hard to match.
H2H they are nightmares for anybody in the history of Boxing. Can you imagine what Wlad would do to Marciano and FraZier?
Wlad put me to sleep too many times but the fact is, he is an ATG heavyweight.
