Only one of two things can be true. Either Charlo is a real a champion, or Canelo can become undisputed at 160. Not both. If Canelo can become undisputed, than Charlo is not the real WBC champion. If Charlo is the real WBC champion, then Canelo cannot become undisputed at 160 (without beating Charlo).
Pick your sides, but for the good of the sport, don't let the shills in the media or at Ring magazine try to have it both ways (not saying they will, but just in case). That would be like having two full WBC Champions. Doesn't work like that. Either Canelo is the real WBC champ, and Charlo is still a "regular/interim" fake belt holder, or Charlo is the real WBC Champ, and Canelo is basically stripped for not fighting his mandatory, and holds no more claim over the 160 WBC belt than Mikey Garcia does at 135 for being "emeritus" champion.
Don't let them have it both ways, it's how they ruin the sport.
This is literally the WBC doing whatever they can to keep Canelo happy and also "enforce" their rules.
They would enforce their mandatory on anybody except Canelo. At the same time they don't want to seem corrupt so they are handing their belt to Jermall Charlo in order to save face. It's basically blatant fuckery.

If Canelo fights Andrade next, it won't be for the undisputed championship. If Andrade wins, the WBC has said he would be awarded the WBC diamond title and could be named the mandatory for the WBC world champion (Charlo).
That's exactly what I was thinking. I guess this makes Canelo's belt like the WBA super belt, but the regular WBC belt isn't as meaningless as the WBA regular title.
I guess we could see this as Canelo being stripped for not fighting his mandatory, but he was mandated to fight the winner of Charlo/GGG.
That's my point though, either it is just as meaningless, or Canelo cannot be considered Super champion.
That's the whole point with the WBA. They can create a "regular" belt to make more money, but everyone knows the only WBA champion is the Super. If there are multiple versions of the same belt, then whoever has the highest version is the champ, and the rest are just the #1 contender, the #2 contender, etc etc etc.
That's what the WBC is trying to get around with a rebranding, but it's propaganda bull**** IMO, and I'm saying don't fall for it. If Canelo is still the #1 WBC at 160, then he's champion, and Charlo is not. If Charlo is #1 WBC at 160, then Canelo cannot be. WBC is trying to make it like they're both champions at 160, but there are only 4 champions per weight class, WBC, WBA, WBO, and IBF. Otherwise are we going to move to a place where there are 8 legitimate champions per weight class lol? There arent even 8 top boxers in most weight divisions. It's ridiculous. So I feel like the WBC has devalued their belt, and neither Canelo or Charlo are really champions now because they've created so much confusion. But either one could be, they just have to pick. You can't have two champions within the WBC. One has to be the actual champion, the others are just the #1 contender.
