Ik Wilder power can get overated but the man is koing men 230+ with 1 punch thats un real.
All though you do have:
George Foremans uppercut
Tua left hook
Lennox Lewis right hand
Shavers Right hand
Who has the single hardest punch in boxing?
The fact that his KO’s are against guys 30-60lbs heavier makes him one of the hardest punchers IMO.
Because There have been many Cruiserweights who were heavier on fight night than Wilder has been in a lot of his fights.
You could argue Ortiz was saved by the bell in round 5 and Fury was flattened with 40 pounds on him and has the ability to box while hurt. Breazale while a no hoper had a solid chin and Wilder cracked him.
Sure he definitely has power, if he didnt he wouldnt be anywhere near where he is right now. But the point is that he has stepped up his opposition against Ortiz and Fury and struggled to get them out of there (he couldnt with Fury).
Brezeale's chin had already been cracked by Joshua tbf.
Wilder hits very hard by I question whether he has the single hardest punch in history.
Probably someone you never heard of has the hardest punch ever. Just because you can punch hard doesn’t mean you are also a good enough boxer that people have heard of you. In fact, the odds are against it.
Wilder's straight right is one of the hardest punches ever but smaller great heavyweights of the past could punch with great force. Marciano, Dempsey and Joe Louis were great punchers. Sonny Liston, Foreman, the K brothers were all huge punchers. It's possible for one punch power Wilder hits the hardest. His straight right has great speed and weight behind it.
Hard, maybe impossible to tell. But I remember the first time I saw Wilder connect with that right. It was the “holy shit” effect. There’s no doubt he has elite power. I don’t know how anyone can say otherwise. Denial ain’t just a river in Egypt. Haha
It just really came to my attention ive been try to calculate who has the single hardest punch in history Wilder is my leading canidate so far.
Foreman in my opinion
Yes, Deontay Wilder's right hand is the single hardest punch in boxing history. Even George Foreman said that Wilder was even a harder puncher than he was at that stage of his career.
Haven't seen him lose to a McCall/Rahman type fighter like LL yet.
Haven't seen him lose to a Jimmy Young like Foreman.
Haven't seen him floored by LHW sized guys like Ali.
Haven't seen him draw with 7-9 guys like a Mercer.
Haven't seen him arguably lose to a guy like Jeff Wooden like Tua.
Etc.
Good points. However, Joe Frazier's Left Hook KO's any current heavyweight and they wouldn't get up. Ali got up. Henry Cooper's shot would have stopped Lewis early in Lewis's career. Ali got up.
Nope. Level of opposition matters.
Size of opposition matter, Wilder is knocking out and down some of the biggest men ever to be at HW. On top of him being a normal sized HW.
I haven't seen anybody hit harder in my lifetime, and even relative to their division since the Hawk Julian Jackson. Hard to say who's the hardest of all time when even science can't explain what is elite power. We can only go by the eye test. Wilder is putting huge grown men to sleep involuntarily. Regardless of the fanboyism and hatred he's going down as an all time elite power puncher. He's even having a Mike Tyson effect on other boxers who feel the pressure to get big knockouts to stay relevant.

Nope! We all know GGG KOs heavyweights in Sparring! What do you think he’ll do to Wilder in a real fight? Use your head bro!
This, Foreman was destroying high-level fighters. Wilder took the step up against Fury and couldn't get him out of there. Even Ortiz was taken out due to exhaustion rather than Wilderspower. Let's see how Wilder does against higher level opposition.

His punches have slept, concussed, convulsed, and destroyed men with one landed punch. Of course there is no way to know for sure, but IMO it is the hardest punch I've ever seen.
