According to ESPN, Canelo and his trainer are not interested in fighting GGG this September. Link is in Español...Sorry...not sorry.
LOL
What bum out of Canada will GGG fight next? GGG won't be fighting Saunders/Charlo/Andrade or re-matching Jacobs. Count on it.
i have ZERO interest in a 3rd fight. the g string mafia will NEVER give credit. it'll be more b.itching and excuses.
Lol...bro...how did you score the first two? Genuine question.
Thought Canelo fought well at times in both fights..but GGG's activity round in and round out just gave him pretty straightforward victories...no shame in that though, he fought GGG better than anyone else.
Probably some truth to many people not giving Canelo full credit if he gets a legit win in fight 3 though...people will cite GGG's age etc...but it's probably fair to point those things out...depends on how he looks and the fight would go.
But man to say GGG fans would never give credit lol...I mean that's basically all I see from GGG 'haters' bro...just refuse to give an inch on what has been a great career for him...just my 2 cents anyway my friend.
Edit - to be fair though, there is a lot of hate that goes around for all fighters and from all fan bases...usually it is always over the top...oh well it is what it is..fans get fanatical nothing new
GGG turns down a career high payday for the first fight then claims he's a victim in the media, because he thinks he's the one guy in boxing who shouldn't make concessions and latching on to Canelo's name is the best way to attract publicity for himself. In the rematch, GGG threatens to kill the fight unless he receives an inflated co-A side split. Canelo overpays him to get it done, lets him pick the judges, fights his fight and beats him according to the standards put forth by his team, yet GGG again turns around and plays the victim when his own team said it was a fair decision. Meanwhile, GGG didn't call for an immediate rematch, instead he took his time in hiding recovered from his injuries and bruised ego, and when he finally reemerged it was against an overmatched opponent, yet has the nerve to tell top fighters to stand in line while he cherrypicks as he pleases like he was the boss in the division. To top it off, he tries to diss Canelo for beating Jacobs comfortably after he went life and death with him. Once he finally feels up to the task of a third fight, he demands Canelo make it on his time line and even tries to dictate the venue? GTFO
Hmm, I see what you're saying but Canelo never really at any point of that hurt him. Jacobs startled Canelo pretty bad can't remember which round it was but I do know both Jacobs and GGG landed the more telling shots against him that actually had an impact.
I just feel Canelo if he wasn't the big name he was he would be losing because of his low output, he doesn't land as much as stats says he does. We need to get Canelo under fair circumstances where paid off judges don't influence a decision.
I hear ya...I felt Canelo won 7-5 iirc...one of those weird fights for me where I could see that score and not much else...I do agree though that in general I felt Jacobs wasn't getting as much credit as he deserved in that fight and basically gave as good as he got.
I just tend to in general favor the aggressor in a fight and I don't feel Danny really did enough to win...also, not that it is a scoring criteria - but Danny just 'looked' like he was losing to me as that fight went on...I just found it hard to give him rounds at the end of some of those rounds.
For sure we agree that Canelo as the popular fighter he is, he definitely gets all the help he needs out there. And I certainly agree that he too often fights in spurts...and especially against someone like GGG that is a bad recipe...partially for that reason I felt those 2 fights were pretty straightforward wins for GGG...GGG is so active that many of those rounds were just clear rounds for him based on output.
Canelo to me definitely fought better and was even more consistent with his effort in the 2nd fight...felt he had fewer stamina issues in that one as well...also I felt he put himself in some of the rounds against GGG where GGG outlanded him, because Canelo for me landed the better punch or combo of the round.
But yeah, when you are outlanded by multiple punches almost every round, I mean it is hard to give that guy rounds ya know? At best you can make some of them close rounds and even maybe take a good percentage of those...and I actually did that for Canelo in both fights...but even then it was an 8-4 type victory for GGG in both. Low output vs high output means very few clear rounds for someone like Canelo.
But yeah my friend I definitely agree that it would be nice if fights and fighters could be judged purely on merit and nothing else would matter...sometimes we get that but usually there is some favoritism or home cooking...for that reason it would be great if the real boxing fans on a forum like this would keep it real about what we see in these fights and fighters...but most of us on here are just as bad as anywhere else lol...oh well what can ya do..still a fun sport to analyze and watch and appreciate.
That was honestly kind of funny to me man...how people say Canelo was decisive vs Jacobs while GGG-Jacobs was close lol...I felt Canelo was the better man in the Jacobs fight but GGG for me was much more decisive...he had quite a few clear rounds plus the KD...Canelo was still the better man vs Jacobs but that one had more close rounds imo. Good post bro

For a guy who swears up and down that his idol beat Golovkin twice you seem hesitant to see a third fight.
1) I want Canelo to fight Andrade for undisputed 4x belts
I want Canelo to achieve in 12 months what G talked about for 12 years :lol1:
2) Hypekin will not fight anyone with a pulse..... he has NEVER willingly taken a dangerous fight with an opponent not named Canelo..... NEVER..... and NOPE, Jacobs was ordered by the WBA, or that fight never would have happened
it is aboutfkntime that sloth actually got off his ass and did something meaningful..... so I cannot wait to hear who he will select next
Tony, the day that Golovkin selects his next opponent..... will that be a good day for you, or will that be a bad day for you..... ?
3) I am not a fan of Golovkin..... he is a poor sportsman, and an entitled diva..... demanding they move the trilogy fight away from Vegas is..... well, typical unfortunately.....
Golovkin is not willing to contribute to the only real thing that matters within boxing, divisional supremacy..... so if he is not willing to fight top 5 opponents, then those guys are more deserving of that payday
first, you reap what you sow..... and Golovkin is not willing to sow anything..... second, those other guys gotta eat as well
4) only two good things will come from the trilogy..... and lets face it, that fight will probably happen eventually.....
first, Golovkin is going to lose worse next time..... NEVER rematch a thinking fighter, especially if he is more-skilled and more well-rounded than you..... Pacquiao learned that in the THIRD fight with Marquez..... Kovalev learned that with Ward..... Golovkin already learned that with Canelo..... LMAO
second..... you dumb fcuks cannot see it coming, and will dig your own holes in the buildup..... which will be utterly delicious :lol1:
Jacobs need to step on the gas earlier in his fights. He's been waiting too long to start being the agressor. Charlo Jacobs might generate some interest because they had a public confrontation. As far as Golovkin goes I'd like to see him fight Charlo if only to shut some people up.
I hear ya Tony, good post...Charlo Jacobs would actually be a good fight for both of those guys and may make some money. I agree Jacobs needs to be more active in some rounds especially if he fights GGG again...that or he needs to box and move and counter exceptionally well...to win off the back foot you have to be putting on a clinic at times and Danny wasn't really doing that against GGG or Canelo...he did have a couple nice rounds vs GGG though.
Wouldn't mind the Charlo fight either...from a pure boxing standpoint I would really like it...I guess Smith or Andrade makes more sense since they are all with DAZN...but I don't necessarily think Andrade is better than Charlo...Charlo has some impressive attributes but if he doesn't breakthrough against GGG Canelo Andrade Jacobs etc he will get outboxed 10-2 8-4 all night imo.
I will say that people's inability to score pretty basic fights in favor of the winner makes seeing any of these matchups less attractive to me...if it goes 12 rounds the people who really dislike a guy will always go against him it seems lol...but yeah from a pure boxing standpoint I would still like to see them.
GOOD JOB !!
fcuk Golovkin.....
he is a poor sportsman, and an excuse-making crybaby
and demanding that fight away from Vegas was just the usual level of G-stupidity
excellent..... now we get to have some REAL fun
when Golovkin selects his next opponent..... will that be a good day for Golovkin fans, or a bad day?
I think I know LMAO

Me too...apart from Canelo, Smith and Andrade interest me. Not much else. Maybe a couple other guys at 168.
Charlo too much of a mismatch, though he would have a puncher's chance, just not really a great boxer...Jacobs was beaten decisively by GGG for me so no real interest in that one again. If Jacobs would come to fight in fight 2 I would like it but if he just came to run and survive again I'll pass on that one

I'd like to see Canelo-GGG 3...hell I'd like to see them fight until one of them gets stopped honestly...5 fights...or just one for 30 rounds...I'd tune in.
Would probably prefer to see GGG-Smith or GGG-Andrade...maybe a couple others. But GGG-Canelo still a big fight and an intriguing one.
It is odd though to see people slight GGG for having a controversial draw, then a controversial loss, and wanting to fight the guy again to avenge those decisions...yet if GGG said 'No Canelo, anyone else' I wonder if those same people would say GGG is scared of Canelo and doesn't want to face him again...just my thoughts.
Canelo seeming to be a little gunshy on the 3rd fight is curious to me...while I still felt Canelo lost, he handled himself well in fight 2 and basically held the center of the ring with GGG all fight...dI would think he would be eager for the payday and another opportunity to prove himself after the draw and close decision in his favor.
If not GGG will be interesting to see where each guy goes from here. Canelo I think takes a tune up...GGG probably a tough fight, to contrast what each guy just did in their previous fights. GGG has to fight a big name next though...DAZN is paying him too much.
Mannix, who works for DAZN, was saying on his podcast today that Canelo is hesitant about fighting Golovkin next... but everyone else involved doesn’t get it because he would be such a wide favorite.
I wonder if it’s just the animosity, because there are a lot of fights out there for Canelo and none of them are easy.
Good post, good insights.
I think part of Canelo knows he accomplished the mission of getting GGG's belts and the 'win'...I think the level both him and GGG have to get to, to get up for that fight, and compete on fight night, is probably incredibly draining. Money and legacy wise GGG would seem to be the easy bet for him.
He already went 24 rounds with him and was never KD or really hurt...if he can go 12 more and fight him fairly even it is likely he will get another decision and, right or wrong, it will enhance his legacy even more.
But I feel like this is almost like building to a crescendo in a way, where eventually one guy will break through and break the other one. If they fought 3 more times, for example, I think one of them would get stopped...just becomes a battle of wills after a certain while.
After being in with GGG for 24 rounds I think Canelo knows at a certain point one guy is going to buckle...he would probably prefer to take on other challenges rather than continue with that one...at some point he knows it will come to a breaking point and he probably isn't sure if it will be him that breaks.
Obviously he doesn't want to fight him again, he had to rely on two robberies to get to where he is at! Instead, Canelo will look to fight the likes of some paperweight champion like Rocky Fielding to pad his resume. He arguably lost to Jacobs, Jacobs had way more success against Canelo than he did against Golovkin.

I'd love to see Golovkin fight Smith. I want to see how he does carrying the extra weight.

If GGG is easy work why is Canelo aging him even further?
Aging him?
Stop crying.
He fought against him two times and the last time he was one year inactive and had a surgery in his knee.
And destroyed the ass and face of GGG.
If it isnt G in September, I'm not sure who would be next at 160. I can't see Canelo jumping back up to 168 because somebody shouldn't be jumping between divisions like that. So idk if Canelo is just posturing but I'm not sure who his next best option would be.

It's more probable that GGG fights against a bum than Nelo
Look the list of rivals of both fighters.
Canelo will fight vs legit champ in 168 or 175
GGG probably Lemieux or another bum
He is the king of the bums
If GGG is easy work why is Canelo aging him even further?

GGG isn't 40 yet that's why they feel he is too young still for the 3rd fight.
