Bob Arum: "AJ WILL NEVER BE THE SAME"

I honestly sense that all of these heavyweights and their promoters still fear Anthony Joshua. Tyson Fury 'really wants Ruiz Junior to beat Joshua' so Joshua does not have to face him. I am not a massive fan of Joshua's but, I still think he will end up on top of this division 'The last man standing, just like Lennox Lewis'.

I was never sold on AJ. His chin has always been shakey and he exchanges punches carelessly with a weak chin. Deontay is horrible skill wise with no boxing iq, but he has freaky reach, a great chin and a deadly right hand to save him

he's still extremely dangerous. losing isn't going to take away his punching power, his size, etc. that said, he's right about the rematch. joshua may very well lose and he does look chinny at this point. unless they really do know something we do not, like if AJ wasn't training hard. styles make fights. ruiz has fast hands and a good chin. we know he has the power to hurt him. he'll probably get to joshua again and it's going to be up to AJ to adjust.

I hate to agree with Arum, but I think he may be right. AJ seems chinny, and too limited, to compete against the other top heavyweights. The only thing he has going for him is his size, but even that isn't enough as we saw with the Ruiz fight.

AJ was never good. The only people saying he was is the Brits. Dude has terrible fundamentals and a England Glass Jaw.

Does Arum actually believe that or is the more likely Reason he says this is because if AJ doesn’t fight Ruiz next one of Arums Fighters ( Fury /Pulev ) will probably be a Mando for Ruiz and the’yll get a chance for TR to hold A couple HW trinkets. I don’t see any other Option for AJ but to run it Right back. He takes time To Rebuild he’s gone from the 3 kings at HW discussion and it’ll be just Fury / Wikder jockeying for the Crown
