He's Mexican-American but I suspect he's repping the first Mexican heavyweight champion title hard because it's more marketable in the long run in both the States and in Mexico than being known as "first Mexican-American heavyweight champion". So my descendants were both from Spain and from the Americas, Aztec or some other native cultures. Canelo/Andy/Louis Ck/Guillermo Del Toro/Oscar De La Hoya are all Mexicans who have way more European blood. George Lopez/Fernando Vargas/Machete lol/Marquez/Barrera are all Mexicans that are more mixed or have more Amerindian blood. Both groups above are all Mexican.
