It sounds crazy, but could Ruiz make more money for Matchroom/DAZN than AJ? I've been married for 18 years and I cannot pay my wife to watch boxing with me. This same woman has spent the last two days reading and watching any and all videos and articles about Andres Ruiz Jr. He's the anti-AJ, but I am beginning to wonder if his story and authentic personality could have far greater appeal than AJ's manufactured image.
Someone is obviously going to make a movie about this guy's life down the road, so how many people are going to want to see the real story unfold?
I have a feeling the DAZN's John Skipper is giving Eddie Hearn marching orders this very morning to lock in Andy Ruiz.
Is Andres Ruiz already a bigger draw/attraction/star than Deontay Wilder???
As of right now, I'd rather see the Ruiz-AJ rematch than the Fury-Wilder rematch... or Fury-AJ... or AJ-Wilder.
Very possible!
He’s Mexican and now the unified heavyweight champion and a Mexican legend! He lives forever!
He could star in Snickers Commercials, cameos in movies, tv shows, Ruiz Merchandise, sponsorships from nearly anyone!
Haymon has the new cash cow!
If he keeps winning, hell yes. There’s a lot more Mexican boxing fans than British ones, and I’m assuming that the average Mexican boxing fan looks more like Andy than Canelo.
And Americans of any race love an underdog story. Andy looks like a plumber and he just beat up a guy who looks like a bodybuilder.
The short answer is yes.
The real answer is that as much as I like watching that fat kid fight, there is just no damn way he’s going to put together the sort of win streak that it would take to be that guy.
He could be the biggest draw in the game if he had a promotor like Arum or Oscar. Haymon might be good at getting fighters money but they aren't good at building super stars. Mexican Americans are the biggest supporters of the sport here. He could be selling Andy Ruiz grills and starring in Carl's jr commercials.
ruiz could have a big following in mexico
but joshua has that gay/cuckold fanbase who fantasize about lathering up his cartoon steroid muscles and spanking themselves for his amusement
Some of you are living in lala land. Ruiz is 6 foot and 268 pounds with trex arms.
Big ups for beating AJ, but this guy won't last past his next fight!
who would have thought a man that looks like somebody's drunk uncle would defeat AJ and could potentially become the face of the heavyweight division :lol1:
you can't make this stuff up lol

If he gets busy with the momentum this month doing interviews on Telemundo, UDN he sure as Hell can & most importantly beating Josh again, Fury, and Wilder
