Anthony Joshua has targeted an immediate rematch with Andy Ruiz Jr after losing his IBF, WBA, IBO and WBO heavyweight titles in a shock defeat at New York's Madison Square Garden. On the occasion of his US debut and despite being the significant favourite against an opponent who had been given little more than a month's notice and had lost his only previous world title fight, Joshua suffered four knockdowns in what became a one-sided upset. No,no,no. That saying, “this is heavyweight boxing” which I too use, is said to infer ONE PUNCH can change the course of a fight. This fight wasn’t that saying. This fight was a boxing beat down and reminded me more of WW or MW fight. “This is Heavyweight boxing” isn’t the saying used when you drop someone four times in a two round period with a four round buffer in between.
True true. I concur. You got a valid point and I agree. This was a systematic beat down by the better fighter.
Joshua will be favourite in a rematch, that's not just because Brits will believe he'll win. :boxing:
Lol. He will be favored over pudgy? Joshua did not just lose, he was exposed! Read my previous posts! I nailed it about this BUM. Yet you arseholes claimed to have schooled me? Learn the game brother! If you would have noticed his tendencies, you would have known that he was a fraud! Checkmate! A.J is done! BOMBSQUAAAAAD!
AJ will be back he just needs a few tune up fights vs guys with similar physical attributes to Ruiz. AJ had never fought a guy with such stubby arms and with that high of a body mass index. It was a new look for him and that inexperience with that kind of opponent cost him.
he needs to lose that muscle so he can jab and he needs a new heart!
Although as a Brit I felt for Joshua being out of his depth with a grossly over weight fighter , I also had a massive laugh at laurel and Hardy ....Edward and Barry sat at ring side .They had put on a shyte PPV where they tried to get away with a shyte line up of names fighting inept opponents, it back fired in a 'huge' way!
The level of Opposition was shyte ...Katie Taylor was clearly beaten but got the nod.,J.B. got the win against a old light faded opponent..did just ok. Josh Kelly was cut badly over both eyes and looked unfortunately after five and didn't deserve the draw (but we can pass on that after only ten fights) Smith fought a ex. sparring partner who had never once fought up at super middle weight. And Coyle was hammered by a ordinary fighter in his prime that was way past his prime.
Barry and Edward are bad for boxing .They have already cost you the fans too many great fights .In the nineties they had Eubank Sr. fighting people like Tony Thornton in defence of his 'world title' whilst the likes of Mike McCallum and the great James Toney never got a mention.
It took a grossly overweight fighter to derail this farce and at 1/100 on Joshua was finally seen for what he is .A decent hitter with limited boxing skills a big heart and a dicky chin.
The quicker these clowns are off the scene the better the boxing world will be.
Yes, the sooner Eddie, the talking anus, Hearn is gone from boxing, the better.
Joshua doesn't have a big heart, he quit against Ruiz.
Idk about that. He got dropped four times and got up. Not a lot of guys do that. He was completely exhausted, bone tired and was still trying. He has heart.

OMG, this is the most hilarious post I've read in a good while. McCracken is scouring the internet looking for suitable sparring partners for the rematch.
Profile:
1. Short
2. Obese
3. Stubby arms...
Boxing skills, chin, hand speed not an issue.:pat:

Aj needs that billy hoe Saunders nasal spray that way he won’t get tired after the first round can last until at least 4th before his Bambi legs kicks in and the nerve of you brits to reel on wilder bird legs at least we haven’t saw him doing the stanky leg all around the ring on multiple occasions
In all honesty this is heavyweight boxing and you when you have giants throwing bombs, anyone can go down. Joshua was simply outgunned. Ruiz was too much for him this past Saturday.

Was a bad style matchup before and Andy only had a 5 week camp. He’s going to get a full camp, and he’s already in AJ’s head
This could be like Dogboe/Navarette II
Ruiz actually had a 15 week camp in total, 2 consecutive camps, with just two days off after the Dimitrenko victory. 100% perfect preparation for Joshua & with Dimitrenko being the same height as AJ, the stars aligned for Ruiz.

yes that is what they have in common and that is what Joshua needs.
Adam is taller, longer reach and fights completely different.
Sparring him wouldn’t prepare Joshua
They have NOTHING in common other than high body fat percentage and being signed to PBC.

Joshua should spar with Adam Kownacki to prepare for the rematch.
