Hindsight makes geniuses of us all.
What was the thinking behind invading the US for AJ and Hearn? Chasing the big fights? Maximizing earning potential? Becoming undisputed? Fighting in the UK has been a very profitable business for AJ and Matchroom. They could have continued to do that whilst making 10s of millions per fight.
For the opponent, coming to the UK to fight AJ is a much, much taller task than facing him on neutral ground. That partisan UK crowd on home soil really cannot be over-estimated. As it turns out, seems AJ completely bottled it mentally fighting in NYC.
Seems they sacrificed a lot last night. Going forward they probably have no choice but to go abroad to take the big fights. Redemption is going to have to be sought on other fighter's terms. So much leverage for AJ/Hearn went down the drain.

Making the move to fight in the US wasn't the mistake; the opponent selection was the issue.
Jarrell Miller was a turkey; 300lb moving punching bag, who could take a beating, while not hurting you with 1-2 shots.
When the turkey went down, Hearn needed to find another turkey, regardless of if they're American or not.
Michael Hunter Jr and Andy Ruiz Jr both would whoop Jarell Miller, and Hearn should've weighed that.
You can't find the next turkey, you may as well cancel the event or try to get Whyte over on 6 weeks.
I wouldn’t want to train in Miami. Too many gorgeous women. Too much of a distraction.
You ever see where Wilder does his camps? It’s some ****ing warehouse in rural Alabama with no air conditioning. No distractions there. Just a few sweaty men and a couple fans.
Exactly, I think you need to stay clear of women 'Even if they are only in visual sight' pumps your ego up with shallow confidence.
Surely Joshua could of chosen a better training environment in america, I think he just bought into the hype of Mami 'Seems tacky to me'.
I agree that he looked off. But now, I also feel he will have to return to the US to put those demons to bed.
... Man, it's much easier to "say" than to actually "do" such things... (I've seen it before: some people simply aren't the same after such a dramatic failure)...
I understand what you try to "imply", of course...
... "coming to America: was supposed to be good "business move"... But, imo, Hearn never had the proper idea on how deeply emotive AJ really is... I already said it here: AJ just crumbled under the pressure of stepping in the MSG ring... (the guy was "off" from the very start... but I don't thing that anyone would have had foresee this...)

Well, there's 2 trains of thought:
A. It was a mistake, should have stayed in the UK cherry-picking and calling all the shots, fighting "mandatories" when it suits, etc.
B. They dared to be great and this won't affect AJ's standing TOO much. Could actually make more opponents want the fight now.

... after AJ and Hearn actually dropped the ball trying to invade USA you came and ask if they did drop the ball...
... What answer do you expect?... "No, they didn't"? :)

Did AJ/Hearn drop the ball trying to invade USA?

I work the night shift, it’s 6am but it’s like 2pm to me.
Not hard to be “quick witted” when everyone else is just waking up lmao
Still , tip my hat to you
Sweet Home Alabama , how rhetoric was that
Good chit
Fugh me
Your fughin quick on the draw
Props to you , it never even fughin hit me
Chalk one up for Rexy
You just blew my fughin mind

In hindsight yes, but seeing how it went down, it was probably likely to happen sooner or later.
I believe all the top heavyweights will probably end up taking losses. not just to each other, but to others as well. We've seen them all get hurt or dropped or whatever, it's really just a matter of time.
That's the mark of a good era.
Your right
That’s when casuals and everybody else respected the sport of boxing
Didn’t fughin matter that O , it was more about going out their and proving that L doesn’t belong on your record

Ironic since “Sweet Home Alabama” is their biggest hit

I can’t recall for the life of me
I’m leaning towards the fifth or sixth
Tell you what, that knockdown is what brought together all of Andy Ruiz
He needed that as a confidence builder , after that it was an all around grand fughin slam
I knew Ruiz could take a punch , that’s why I believed that Joshua would get to him in the mid rounds , my prediction and Fugh was I wrong
But I’ll tell you this , I thought when Ruiz went down from knockdown , he looked like he was tense , didn’t want his head to hit canvas ,
The shot he got , he looked like a dear in the headlights
I was worried because the way he went down , that he was not gonna get up
Fugh was I wrong but the minute he got up I knew that was the end
Check it , body language totally changed
I thought my guy Michael Griffin ( MTL ) did a fantastic job as usual
Too bad Procopio fughed it up
When he got dropped I had a slight flashback to the Povetkin fight. But Ruiz got up and took a HARD hook right after (about as hard as the shot that dropped him) and it didn’t budge Andy and I thought “oh...****!” And Joshua was on the ground about 10 seconds later.

There’s to much smoke , theirs too much coke
That’s Miami baby
Lynyrd Skynrd
I didn’t see that, but that’s fantastic. What round? Just shows how important it was to Ruiz. He did his homework, and his trainer did too. They had a game plan and other than the knockdown they executed it flawlessly.
Also, on the Ruiz KD, did it look to you like his head was kind of held? I watched it a few times and it seems like as he’s trying to dodge joshua’s punch he got stuck on Joshua’s other hand. Wasn’t blatant like Fury/Cunningham...maybe it was just me? lol

Yes I know, I am just wondering if? For him personally he would of preferred to stay in his usual training environment. Something was off anyway, the Kiltschko fight was a by far more intense pace, or so it appeared.
I am not sure why people buzz off Mami, must be a annoying place to train too civilized 'Ether which way Joshua was beaten up comprehensively'.

Ahhh fugh I wouldn’t have believed it if I didn’t hear it with my own ears
Why would they boo him , I can count on both hands the times I’ve heard a British chit on him
The shushing part , with Ruiz and his corner , that was fughin classic
Did you catch it or you missed it
You’ll have a good laugh
It just seemed unreal , I think it’s the first time I ever witness the boxer telling a corner man to shut up
Usually it’s the head chief , the way it should be , doing the only talking in the corner

Different for both guys.
Eddie is getting this cherry ass US deal with DAZN that is basically a no lose situation for him. Either he becomes a player in the US boxing game or he doesn't & can go back to kicking Warren's ass on the daily in the UK boxing game.
For Joshua I think he was likely pressured by DAZN into fighting in the US with the lure of some Canelo-like multifight 9 digit offer which was rumored to be dangling in front of if he became sellable to US fans. And he could still get that offer, likely slightly lowered, if he beats Ruiz in the rematch.
Yo Eff
C’mon don’t tell me YOU didn’t notice Ruiz telling his corner to stfu
Ok ok he shushed him
I was laughing my ass off
