He has no name value. Nobody knows who he is. He hasn't been keeping relevant by fighting other contenders. Casual boxing fans don't even know who he is. He's at least 50 years old. Is anyone genuinely excited to see him get a payday against Fury, AJ or Wilder?
I feel like Wilder-Ortiz II would go down similar to Wilder-Stiverne II. Bit of a dud fight, and I'm a Wilder fan. Ortiz was only ever rated highly by Wilder diehards. I'd rather see Wilder fight a combination of Adam Kownacki, Jarrell Miller, Joseph Parker and/or Dillian Whyte.
WTF did i just read???
You do know hearn offered Ortiz $7m right????
Big bad Wilder so scary Ortiz wants him again for less than a 3rd of the AJ fight.... priceless
Lol though, was it dark in your cave
Ortiz wants more from aj cuz aj supposedly makes more :dunce: Why you acting like you don't know? You must still be in the cave thinking your out the cave.
Ruiz's resume is worse than almost all of them.
You've been overrating and underrating the wrong guys, whatever you think is right is wrong and vice versa.
AJs career defining win is over a guy that struggled against the guy Ortiz destroyed & Fury schooled.
Wilder also nearly beat the guy that schooled Wlad & beat Ortiz & Stiverne.
Wait.. do you think it was Wilder who beat AJ? 😂😂
Wilder didn’t want it.
It should have been him but he scheduled three fights ahead of this.
How did the fight make you right? Haha

You're right, Ortiz and Jennings are beasts and their resumes are far better than Povetkins. Top 5 after top 5 heavyweights have fallen in the hands of these two giants of the heavyweight division.
Tried to tell you dawg
So hearn doesn't want to make the fight with King Kong but D.Wilder /Ortiz can make the fight? Think about that..team aj don't have much confidence in aj….LOL

Are you suggesting he is getting more than $7m to fight Wilder??
Because, IMHO, $7m for Ortizn't is very overpaid.
Luis' quack is almost as loud as Widlers

Jennings was top 5 and ranked lower than anybody Pedvetkin has ever beaten. Furthermore Ortiz did it easily.
Takam? Pedvetkin had to come back after being out boxed.
Huck? Almost beat him, achieved nothing at HW.
Chagaev? Nearly lost.
Perez? Drunk in the ring.
Klitschko? Blown out.
AJ? Knocked out.
But hey, he managed to beat Eddie Chambers convincingly 11 years ago who could barely beat Calvin Brock.

Yeah you're right, unlike Ortiz who's been beating top 5 opponents his entire career :lol1:

Ortiz didn't start getting dropped by David Price level opponents when he was busted & he kept his power unlike Pedvetkin.
Pedvetkin's resume & performances have been trash, you can't even name an impressive performance or a single top 5 fighter he has beaten since like 2008 in Chambers who was going life and death with guys like Brock.

And Ortiz on the other hand has been clean his whole career.
You'd probably pick many to beat Povetkin, but in reality, he has a better resume than jennings and ortiz put together x 2.

I guess it’s better than the Brezeales and the other bums he’s been fighting but i will be catching the replay.
I watched the brezeale fight with my dad and he was dumbfounded when I told em that wilder is the HW champion lol.
so nobody can prove hes 50? im going to watch the fight anyone with a brain knows aj and wilder wont fighting until maybe 2021, there arent many big names in the division ill just enjoy what little talent we have
Can anyone prove it? Nope. Finding Cuban birth certificates can be harder than finding a needle in a haystack - there's a chance it doesn't even exist. Will people continue to speculate? Absolutely. I'm on the side that believes there's a strong chance he's lying about his age - Cuba is probably one of the top 2 South American countries notorious for athletes lying about their age (that and the Dominican), and Ortiz doesn't pass the smell test. Oh well.
You're right though - Heavyweight boxing is struggling for legit names.
no one slammed this guy until Wilder fought and beat him
yes indeed it really makes no sense to argue with these guys anymore just mess with them and laugh.
Luis Ortiz has had questions about his age since his amateur days.
Nonetheless, back on track...
This fight is a waste of time. No one wanted it, and the only people defending it, are doing it because they feel like they have to protect their hill.

Boxing skill wise Ortiz is still better than Wilder. Even in his old age and off the juice. But Wilder should knock him out pretty easily. He was getting tagged with straight right hands by Christian Hammer. Unfortunately it seems those ancient reflexes are beginning to fail him.
I would call Ortiz a pointless fight for wilder as he gets nothing from it really. He’s fighting an older man than the first fight and therefore should win far more comfortably.
Not really much else to say? If Whyte, fury or Joshua would be against him I would still say it’s a worthwhile fight given they haven’t fought yet but they would be overwhelming favourites
thats your opinion tho, this has been spread as a fact after wilder beat him, before he was another fighter wilder was ducking and there was no mention of this 50 years of age thing, im just trying to see if this is a fact or opinion since its just thrown around.

I am defending Ortiz getting slammed by the same people who called him the boogyman and then claimed Wilder was saved by the refs..
That was more than a year ago and he has looked average since against lower level opposition.
