No boxing fan thinks they are the same person. They are both good but I like Vitali better. Vitali was never knocked down in his career and only lost twice due to injuries. I think he was a better all around fighter than his brother. He was extremely rugged and also a KO puncher with almost all of his wins being KOs. He only has the two losses due to injuries while Wlad is not so rugged and was dropped many times and KOed at least 4 different times.
What does a bunch of guys who have no real clue about something like this & a few who do deeming someone among the greatest do exactly doe? Whats good about it really? What's the value to the sport?
Im talking more on boxing experts guys who actually fought back in the day or trained fighters and been studying this sport for ever.
99% of the people who talk about ATG sh^t are unfit to talk about it I'd argue. Most have only seen a handful of great fighters fights. I don't believe its fair to judge the greatest of each area on just 3 or 4 fights & sometimes no fights even exist.
Its a silly mental masturbation to play the all time great game.
And this isn't even getting into the different rules & different times & different knowledge available at different times in boxing history that makes the variance of judging true ability & talent an impossibility to measure against guys from different eras.
so accomplishments in boxing don't actually have any value and we're not allowed to evaluate them becasue you cannot
right.
Wlad had the better career but Vitali was more talented
Ain't that the concensus
talented?
wladimir hit harder, had better accuracy, he was faster. heck, vitali couldn't even make it through training when he was at the end of his career.
vitali was a better fighter at his peak. that's the consensus among experts and people who have been watching boxing for the 15-20 years you need to have context on the careers of both guys. wladimir had a better career, vitali would have almost surely kicked his ass. the main reason for that is how important it is to have a great chin when you fight another great HW in a fantasy fight. almost all of the great HW had great chins. unless wladimir was leaps and bounds ahead of his brother techincally and physically he'd ahve eventually ahd to take a big shot, and we all know what that looked like against purrity, sanders, and lamon brewster. vitali, on the other hand, might have the best chin i've ever seen. he's certainly up there. i've never seen him genuinely wobbled, including bombs from lewis and corrie sanders.
Who's confusing Wladimir & Vitali? Haven't heard of anyone doing that since they become known. Early on in their first few years maybe, but not know.
And ugh at top ten ATG bs. Thats speculative fantasy child bs. Who f#cking cares. Wladimir reigned for an impressive length of time.
ATG list are very important for any sport really.
