Why do people hate on Tyson Fury when he is the only top Heavyweight to step up?

The current narrative is that you have to believe your favourite fighter's rivals are obviously ducking. No question, that is what is happening. People get sycophantic about this, in a similar way to Justin Bieber or One Direction fangirls. No criticism of your favs is allowed, everyone else is to blame for anything that goes wrong or doesn't happen. Personally I never understood the logic. Anyway. How can anyone in their right mind call The Gypsy King, Tyson Fury, a ducker, or claim that he is scared/won't step up to the plate? 1. He beat the longest-reigning Heavyweight champion, Wladimir Klitschko, in his own backyard, with everything against him. 2. He had a positive trace PED test, nowhere near the levels of Canelo. His long absence was due to him suffering with depression/mental health issues and recreational drug use. 3. He beat Deontay Wilder in his own backyard and got robbed of the victory, after 3 years out and no real competitive preparation. 4. He has called out Anthony Joshua several times but has been met by Eddie Hearn's "gauntlet demands" each occasion. The latest from Hearn being "Fury has to beat Dillian Whyte if he wants to fight AJ doe." He stepped up and relieved the REAL Heavyweight champion, and an ATG, of all the belts, then had to vacate due to problems with his mental health and in his personal life. He has never been beaten. While out of the ring AJ picked up Fury's belts, fighting a lineup of opposition nowhere near the level of Tyson Fury himself. AJ collected Fury's titles by fighting a bunch of lesser men. Then Tyson eventually comes back and gets offered a slave contract by Hearn, so goes with Frank Warren who offers him the World. Beats the other "champion" Wilder to make it a full house of World titles for Tyson, only to get robbed of the decision. The reality is, they were never going to let an American Heavyweight lose the title on home soil after the period of time America went without a World champion in the top division. Now Tyson has signed a deal with Top Rank and ESPN which makes him a ton of money and gives him the financial backing to make some of these fights on his terms where he no longer just has to be the away fighter. Despite the politics in Boxing, Tyson is his own man and is outspoken enough to get the big fights made regardless of what network, or who promotes, etc. Tyson Fury is scared of no man and wants to fight the best. He just won't be handicapped from the start of the process no more, like he has been many times in the past. So chill with the hate for this man. He is the top dog in the Heavyweight division, he has proven that twice now. He is a road warrior who achieved what other men couldn't and/or wouldn't. He is a proven blood and guts warrior. He already beat Wilder clearly, fair and square. And AJ style-wise is tailor made for Tyson. Anyone that can't accept that; A. he clearly beat Wilder, and B. AJ is tailor made for him, these people are beyond logic and should seek help with their mental health issues.

You need to ignore that muppet. His hatred for Josh has more to do with his insecurities than boxing, lol. How can man say Josh talks like an idiot when he’s arguably the most well spoken and intelligent boxer there’s but have a clown who could barely speak English in his heyday on his profile. Some of these guys have mental issues. I understand exactly what you are saying. Rexy, sometimes do have this mental challenges and insecurity once AJ is mentioned. I have observed him over time. Possibly he needs help.

He wasn't the away fighter because he didn't have a TV deal. He was the away fighter because: 1. He was Klitschko's mandatory 2. He was on the comeback from being obese and drugged up. Now he's got his big TV deal and he's fighting... Tom Schwartz. To be fooled by a guy as transparent as Fury you'd have to be a very special kind of dumb.

Because he is a clown, who does nothing for the 'glitz' of the heavyweight division, even though he is extremely gifted, the best boxer in the division. He could be so so much more of an icon. I guess he has no obligation to be an icon, or be anything that he isn't, but it's his antics that bring him disrespect.

The fact of the matter is Rexy, these "tbrb" and RING rankings are subjective and politicized, they are all the same these days. I'd heard of Tom Schwarz before this fight, only time I saw him fight was when he put on a dominant performance against another unbeaten German in Dennis Lewandowski. But on the face of it he is an unbeaten, European-level opponent who will likely take Fury some rounds and give him the opportunity to fight a fellow giant with decent fundamentals and good movement. I personally have no problem with this opponent, and I am expecting a more interesting fight than people will have you believe. He was getting beaten by Gashi who just had a terrible fight with Chisora. The only exciting part was after the KO when they actually started throwing punches. And tbrb is probably the least biased rankings you could use man.

Go look at tbrb and ring. All of their historical rankings are very easy to find. I posted the links to Duhaupas being ranked #8 months ago during a debate. I’m not doing it again. fury was a cherry pick gone wrong. the guy was fighting on undercards against complete bums and was in horrible shape. wilder wanted his name on his resume so he was offered 10 million which was absolutely insane. it was similar to when joshua offered charles martin 6 million dollars or whatever it was. unfortunately for wilder it backfired and he lost which in turn created this 3 headed monster we now have in the division although it really should be 2.

The same place that dropped Schwarz from top 30s to below 50 with no explanation? :lol1: Go look at tbrb and ring. All of their historical rankings are very easy to find. Why watch Boxing then, if that is your logic? The best very rarely fight the best. Wilder is always making crazy/autistic claims about his ability, but continues to fight sub-par opposition. Only reason he fought Fury is because his team assumed Fury was shot. AJ also claims to be head and shoulders above the rest, while fighting the likes of Takam and Ruiz Jr.? This is the same throughout all divisions. Making claims about your own ability is to be expected; if boxers don't have faith in themselves then they'll achieve nothing. That isn't the issue though; the issue is Tyson Fury routinely talks crap about every other boxer there is and acts as if they are all beneath him, yet instead of rematching a guy that he says is a bum he is facing a complete bum in Tom Schwarz. If you aren't going to back up what you say then the world is going to deem you a clown... and that is exactly how most people see Tyson Fury.

ABC rankings are BS, Will. You know that. Don’t use them to back your argument. Schwartz is ranked highly by the WBO because he mainly fights only in WBO sanctioned fights against low ranked WBO fighters. It’s how the IBF mandatories are usually no names. Fury not being in ABC rankings is due to inactivity. Well where are you claiming the likes of Molina, Duhaupas and Arreola were ranked top 10-15?? BoxRec? Exactly. Yes he has fought Klitschko and Wilder but his last fights outside those two are: Schwarz - 8th ranked German! Planeta - 9th ranked German! Seferi - this guy just drew with the 2nd ranked German (who has 9 losses to his name by the way) And even before his break after he beat Chisora the first time He went on to fight in this order: Firtha Pajkic Rogan Maddalone Johnson Cunningham Abell He has beaten only chisora and hammer on any level outside those main two and both of them are 11-20 fighters at best. Sorry but his resume is marginally better than Wilders, so don’t go fight schwarz then make out to take on all challenges Hi Kezzer, you may not know this but Steve Cunningham is a former Cruiserweight champion, and a very credible opponent. Some of those you listed are going back 8 years, when Fury was still on the come-up, so let's keep it in perspective. When Fury fought Firtha he was 23 years old, 15-0 and fresh off of winning the British title. Sane goes for most of those you listed, Fury wasn't even a contender at that point but just a fighter on the rise. His best wins are: Wladimir Klitschko Deontay Wilder Dereck Chisora x2 Steve Cunningham Christian Hammer Hammer may not be the greatest name, and people may argue that Chisora was never more than a gatekeeper, but Tyson toyed with these fighters when they were at their peaks and giving other top fighters a lot of problems. In fact he made them both quit from being outclassed. Outside of that, Fury's win over Klitschko in Germany is better than anything AJ or Wilder have on their resume's at the minute. You could argue that Fury's win over Cunningham is also better than anything on Wilder's resume too. AJ does have at least have a resume of beating paper champions and a shot Klitschko.

Duhaupas, Takam, And Molina were all ranked in the top ten. Arreola, Washington and Spzilka in the top 15. Schwartz is top 5 in Germany, and unlike most people on here, I’ve watched him fight (I remember wondering why him and Kayabal were ranked so highly with the WBO) Schwarz is ranked above Fury in one ABC org, and in the top 15 by another. I think he is ranked #4 in one of them. When Fury-Schwarz was announced this was the case, though they might have dropped him out now.
