Hes so improving Nelo. He is lightyears away from when he fought Floyd. He beat bums for his first 40 or so fights so Is learning on the job.
I mean he struggled with Trout, but todays version of Nelo would not have had trouble beating Trout, and would have likely beat Floyd quite comfortably todays version of Nelo if it was at 160 or 154.
You're an ATG after only 2 good wins now? He has Trout and Jacobs. The rest were either robberies, shot, too small, or weren't even world class.
Canelo is so pathetic that he weakens his opponents all the time with rehydration clauses. And you think he's a great or something? Have some shame will you. He's a diva coward who failed drug tests.

As a fighter he's excellent and still improving but his losses (both official and unofficial) don't speak of a fighter who is head and shoulders above the rest of the best... what he has had is the full backing of the WBC, great promotion and massive money thrown at his career. In short he's been groomed to be a massive star and the face of the sport from an early age. That isn't to take anything to from him - he's still had to fight the fights, and he hasn't shied away from the tough ones, but he's also been able to bring enough money to the table that he can get pretty much who he wants to the ring.
Once again goes to show that resume is as at least as much about opportunity as it is about ability though.
that post reeks of excuses, and the bold is total rubbish
if you have the ability, you will get the opportunity
Ward is not a cashcow, but he managed to make every fight he wanted
oh, all except one that is
resume is all about.... 1) taking those fights.... 2) winning those fights
it comes down to balls and ability..... if a fighter has a shlt resume, then he was lacking in at least one of those departments
Golovkin had plenty of opportunities, so save your excuses
Larry trying to give more credit to Gayweather.
But real boxing fans will remember that Gayweather fought Canelo when Canelo was a 21 year old kid and drained to 152.
A lot of truth here

Also Canelo was 27 to GGG's 35 in the first fight and 28 to GGG's 36 in the 2nd fight so a prime Canelo got whooped twice by an old past prime GGG.
a middleweight killer..... could not get a clear win over Canelo, and clearly lost the rematch.....despite the fact that Canelo is still adapting to 160, and still learning/adjusting his game.....
Canelo already proved that he is a better fighter than Golovkin, and he is MUCH better than Golovkin historically
all those questions have been answered now
we told you guys
Nah, Chavez was giving Floyd all he could handle. Easily my favorite Floyd performance.
G is not comparable to hardly anyone on Floyd's list but Guerrero, because that's how I see that fight going if it happened.
Maidana..... in the rematch, when Floyd boxed him ?
He is making a name for himself. Some of those wins I wouldn't tout so high like Khan and old washed up Mosley (not sure why you included Shane), but his resume is growing and so is his ring IQ and skills. He has learned a tremendous amount since the Floyd fight
Canelo never ducks no one. fights the toughest fights. rarely is favored to win. like triple flop who is usually a 40-1 favored to win on almost all his fights since he fights taxi drivers only. plus canelo goes up in weight. imagine if ge fights 6’3 smith. canelo at 5’8. dude has balls. triple flop only sucks canelo’s balls.

168 wba title holderI agree. I have to give credit where credit is due. The kid is a good, crowd pleasing fighter, who always gives us boxing fans the fights that we want to see. He never ducks anyone. In my opinion, he's on pace to surpass even Money Mayweather as an all-time great; Despite his only loss. His resume is second to none.

I agree he’s on his way and he will be fighting some tough guys along with some tough challenges.
Problem is in the tough fights he gets gift decisions ... never wins decisively, no KO's, not even clear wins ... he gets arguable decisions.
The problem with C. Alvarez, he doesn't hae a CONVINCING win in any of his big fights. Controversial decisions, bare minimum decisions, decisions, decisions. He doesn't have a solid win in any of his big fights .... more like political wins, or I'm-the-A-side wins. Most significant: NO KO's in the fights against the BEST.
Imagine if Ali, Foreman. Holyfield, Maciano, Joe Louis, Duran, Leonard, Hearns, Hopkins, Mayweather, Arguello, Tito, Lewis, Tyson, Larry Holmes, Floyd Patterson, SugarRay Robinson, the Klitschkos, etc. NEVER had a knockout in ANY of their BIGGEST FIGHTS with their BEST OPPONENTS??
Would we look at them the same?
He may end up with an ATG record, but he is far from an ATG fighter. His best wins are boring, arguable losses. He has the hype though no question.
Gawd bless Canelo
imagine what he could accomplish if he could use his legs properly!
it's such a shame his knees are already gone at his age
but that's what happens when you're build like a tank yet you move like Sweet Pea in the ring
legless Canelo is amazing. if he actually had legs he'll probably be able to cut off the ring.. damn shame
Yes he did. He whooped Canelo who you love so much in the first fight and damn near everybody but you thinks so and he did it with an 8 year age disadvantage. You would choke before you gave GGG an ounce of credit. He had 20 successful title defenses and 22 kos in a row. Can Canelo say that? The 20 guys he defended his title against were not elite but they were good fighters and mostly top 10 contenders or champions. He beat a younger better Jacobs first. Lemieux even now is a top contender at 168 and he is young not old like Mosley. Every guy GGG ever defended his title against were better than Angulo and Kirkland who are walking punching bags.
Jacobs got robbed
