Very sporting of Jacobs to except a lousy offer for the chance to be a huge star. He believes in himself unlike Ortiz who flat turned down 7 million to fight AJ. I thought Jacobs would be getting 10 million or more. Canelo getting 12 times as much as Jacobs is BS.

Relative to what Canelo is earning, that is quite a big difference. Jacobs has mouths to feed in his team, his managers, promoters, taxes, etc, so that $2.5 will shrink considerably. Meanwhile Canelo’s will also shrink but it’s so much he’d still be left with a fortune. I guess they’re going by Canelo and Jacobs PPV history. But still, you’d think if Jacobs was with Arum, or was directly under PBC, he’d see at least $6-7mill for such a high profile fight. This purse probably makes Jacobs a lot more dangerous though, he’d probably come in hungry and motivated. Canelo better bring his A game.
