How many more years/fights is left on his contract with Top Rank? If he can’t get any fights with the PBC side for another few years than who does Crawford fight besides possibly Brook & Vargas?
i thought it was 4-5 years but could be wrong
sheeeit, well it's confirmed he's never gonna fight any PBC fighters. I just don't understand why he re-signed with Arum. That couldn't have been the only option
I'm sure there are outs, but I bet they are sketchily defined & hard to qualify for. But maybe not.
I do think Bud is a pretty no bs guy & wouldn't hesitate coming into the TR office like Ice Cube in the NWA movie when he got f#cked over & make it known he wasn't happy if he wasn't happy although in a more subtle & reasonable way lol.
I think Bud's no bs attitude probably helped him get Arum to overpay Khan & ditch that silly ass Collazo fight. I got mucho respecto for Bud over that one cuz I think too many mfers in boxing now don't try to control their own destiny enough or are too happy to take a bs fight cuz money is money. I feel like Bud realizes his time in this sport is limited & he wants to maximize his upside & you don't do that taking too many fights that don't matter at age 31 when so many eyes our on you & you can get even more eyes on you if you play your hand right.
Yeah Crawford definitely putting pressure on Arum probably ESPN too I seen bob go at other promoter before but he been taking it to a different level now Bud wants to keep up with Loma and they don't have the names to give him meaningful fights
Seems like it. He signed the new deal in September 2018 & if it’s until September 2023 that means he’ll be 36 when it’s up. So let’s just say for arguments sake the Spence fight happens in 2023 it’ll be a 36 year old Crawford vs. a 33 year old Spence.
Fight will happen before that no doubt. But either way, damn sure not by 2023 unless it's at like 154 or even 160 lol.
I see it happening next year.

Doubt Spence will still be at welter by then. By then I won't even care anymore. Bring on Brook, Vargas, and maybe Ugas, and then the winner of the 140 tourney(Prograis)
For the rest of his prime athletic years.

You just never know. Arum probably put in a lifetime clause.
lol when looking it up all I could find is it stating it’s a multi year contract. Not sure how long it is specifically. I’m assuming multi year probably means about 5 years which is 10 fights total. His second fight on the new deal was against Khan.
