I remember going to see Lewis vs Tyson at the Pyramid & the hate Lennox got.
The man fought everybody who had the balls to fight him & he fought over here to show he was the truth.
I will never forget when I would tell my friends that they would miss Lennox Lewis and to enjoy him while he lasted.
Even in the Vitali fight when father time caught up with him, the man fought like a warrior & in my opinion, he was losing the boxing match to Vitali, but he beat the hell out of the older Klit.
What a legend!!!!!
I don't think he's bothered by it 1 bit cause Americans loved him and at the end of the day that's all that matters.if your popular in America your going to be known world wide and Lennox was known world wide
I don't think anyone underappreciate him, at first the british public didn't warm to him because he won the olympic gold for canada, they had Bruno who was british to the core etc. In the end they did warm up to him and i think it took him losing to Mccall for that to happen.
The americans obviously hated him for a while too, they fought his style a bit boring at some point and the fact that he was ducked by Bowe, beat up their fighters. In the end he fought some of the american boxers on their way down, which wasn't his fault since they avoided him. He fought their up and comers like Briggs and Grant, klit before calling it a day. I respect him for his achievements in the ring, no one can take that away from him. He gets talked about as a top 10/15 HW of all time, so no he is appreciated.
One of the greatest heavyweights of all time.
Could jab and bore you to death with an impossible to beat style like prime Klitschko, but could also hustle and fight his heart out when it mattered.
Something wladimir lacked during a large portion of his career
