Loma took care of business.
As usual, he looked very skilled, and put on a show. A highlight reel KO.
But against Crolla? Who cares. It was meaningless. Loma did exactly what a guy of his calibre was expected to do.
I hope Crolla is okay, he seems like a nice guy.
Mikey Garcia was the one to blame for making these hardly known fighters suddenly appear on casual fans' radar screen.
Who would have thought Lipinets existed till Mikey fought him? Nobodies like Rojas and Zlaticanin prior to that. Then Mikey began to throw Linares' name around, which made fans wonder who the hell the guy was. Fans then started googling and found Linares was in his 2nd fight with a guy named Crolla, who, again, fans didn't even know existed. But then Garcia finally redeemed himself by fighting Spence.
Totally agree, no greatness tonight. He killed two birds with one stone tonight. Got rid of his mandatory whilst testing out his injuries/surgery. Both checked out.
Now he needs to get better name with better achievements, I hope he Teo Lopez fight happens towards the end on 2019 for all the belts, Lopez is gathering some hype right now.
I would rather see Loma/Garcia at 135 but I don’t want Garcia to come down from 147 to 135, so if he vacates the title then I hope Loma gets to fight a bigger than for it.
Seems like he got injured
I think it’s his wrist
Way to crush the dreams of people who thought this was supposed to be a competitive match that further solidifies Lomas claim to p4p crown. Way to crush all 5 of them, worldwide
Yeah, I see it the same. Glad to get it out of the way.
I mean I always enjoy watching Loma fight. His skillset is incredible.
But I'm not a fan of Loma because he is good at crushing overmatched opponents. I'm a fan because of his otherworldy skills and his desire to achieve greatness.
I got to see the skills, but there was no achieving greatness tonight.

The fight is done now, didn’t think it would be this early, at least he gets his mandatory out of the way and his injury looks like it’s gone now. So on to better things, getting the other belts.

The problem is that Loma is just too good, not that Crolla is no good.
Crolla is a former world champ, was mandatory, has beaten some decent opponents. This is the problem when a guy is just too good. Crolla would be a very acceptable opponent for any other world champ and would be competitive.
It was the same when Floyd fought guys like Robert Guerrero. People slated him for it, but at that point, Guerrero would be seen as a stiff test on paper for any fighter another fighter.
Apart from a very very small amount of fighters around Loma's weight, the rest of the guys are just around the level of the likes of Crolla.
The funny thing about Guerrero is he originally lost to Salido.
lol

I was certainly not expecting a KO like that.
If anything, I thought it would be a 6th or 7th breakdown after Loma would keep connecting a barrage of punches.
