Any source for Paulie being a gambler? I'm guessing he sees this opportunity as easy money and a way to channel his competitive instinct.

He said because its so new he thinks he can get some easy paydays. I don't think Paulie is broke, just greedy/ seeing an easy opportunity to make money. i think paulie would take an MMA fight with connor tomorrow. bunch of reasons for it. big one is money. but you don't have to be broke to want money!

Paulie has had a job with Showtime calling fights for years now. No way he’s broke Plus he is a single man with no kids, and from what I have seen? Does not really go overboard with his money. I watched a video of him maybe 1 year ago, trying to give Broner advice on money management/lifestyle management. He stated that he was wise, because of his Italian people who he hung out with with newyork? Soon as they realized he was good at boxing, they where on his back to stay on the straight and narrow 'Therefore certain life style habits where ingrained within him by his community' I just think Malignaggi for some reason, has some sort of competitive rage that he needs to express 'And I noticed that he seems to have a extreme dislike to MMA/UFC as a whole' I think the ego's within that sport rub him the wrong way.

Being "Broke" is a relative term,& supposedly he doesn't make "that"much from commentating. But im sure hes not gonna be bumming rides anytime soon or anything like that,but he might have blown through the couple million tops he mightve made in his career,plus taxes,expenses etc. I don't think he made much in his career because he sucked at getting big paydays that most paper champs hold out to make. he made a million dollar purse to fight adrien broner alone. hatton fight was even more than that. several half million dollar purses for khan, porter, garcia, diaz. the guy fought on the major networks for years and years. claimed he didn't make a purse less than 250k for a non tuneup since the cotto fight. the guy made a ton of money man. the cotto fight was in '06! now he makes a good paycheck from showtime. he's either blown a ton of money or he just wants to experience everything that came wth being a fighter. attention is a big part of that.

I'm quite sure Paulie's okay, financially. Besides, he told the two biggest numbskulls in boxing (Broner and Tank) to be wise with their money because those big paydays will slow down. He also mentioned taxes. So, yeah, from that standpoint, I believe he's okay. Somebody just mentioned him not getting the biggest paydays in the sport, which is true. I haven't seen him in and out of courtrooms, settling cases, and so on. I think he's straight, but we can never be too sure.

I just googled his net worth and he is worth 5 million bucks. That is a long way from being broke and in debt since net worth includes debt. He is always in demand to comment on fights for Showtime and other places and that pays well. I don't know why he is fighting bare knuckles but it's not because he is broke.

Yea Pauli’s gambles heavy. It’s sad. How do you know if he gambles? I never hear him make any reference to gambling. He never mentions betting lines or any sort of indicator that he is a gambler. I gamble and I gotta say boxing has been the easiest to win at. If I knew as much as Paulie I don’t know how I wouldn’t clean up?
