Paulie "Hands of Pasta" Malgnaggi in a bare knuckles fight? Dude will school those apes but I fear for his brittle hands.
Surely Paulie has enough money in the bank, and a real TV job, that he doesn't need this crazy stuff? I guess not.
hands of pizzelle
Fame in boxing is very basic.
If you win the fans over then you win the networks over, then you get title fights.
It's really that easy.
Malignaggi being "an easy opponent to beat up on" for Cotto, turned into a 12 round fight that was considered competitive by fans who watched it, it surprised fans and HBO liked his effort. Couple that with Malignaggi's trash talking, he got some fans to also hate him and want to see him get beat up = sells fights.
Some fans might not like this but it's common sense. That's just how you get on. It's that simple.
If I become a pro boxer, and go 20-0 with no good names, i'm under the radar, untested and i'm put in there for Spence as an opponent to beat up on but I give him 12 competitive rounds, my stock would probably rise, fans would like my effort and want to see me again, and Fox/Sho will probably want me back on their network.
it is not that easy. "fame" is something that requires investment and time. networks and promoters take on blue chip fighters and take on a lot of risk to make them into stars.
and not all fighters with equal ability have an equal shot shot at it. promoters and networks look for fighters with a built in fanbase. mexicans, americans, increasingly british fighters who fight at home, guys who speak english, etc. all that stuff matters. it's not all about winning fights. that's the backbone of all of it but there's an active involvement of a lot of moving parts that make up the investment that is also necessary for making stars in boxing.
I think Paulie better read his contract carefully, I heard some other bare-knuckle fighter on last card didn't get paid because He wasn't fighting enough.
Crappy deal for Paulie if He gets beat up and then doesn't even get paid :lol1:.
That was a different bare knuckle boxing company.
Paulie will get destroyed, his hands are brittle, he has poor head movement and he is washed up, bareknuckle is different from boxing with gloves to catch and block.

Paulie keeps his hands down and his reflexs are probably long gone by now
All Lobov has to do is walk him down and let his hands go, Paulie always had subpar defence relying on his feet more than anything else.
If Paulie doesnt have the power to keep the much bigger Lobov away its gonna be a hard night for him.
Bare knuckle fighters are not skilled. Anyone with a little bit of boxing skill beats these bums all the time and Paulie will win no doubt. I have seen their champions get knocked out by semi decent boxers.
paulie was largely a joke. his entire career was a series of fights he didnt deserve and only got because of his previous losses
cotto needed an easy opponent to beat up for his new york fight so they chose paulie. right place right time really. destroyed. after that, oh paulie lost to cotto lets give him an easy title fight, oh hes got a title lets see him vs hatton. destroyed. oh he was destroyed vs hatton lets see how he does vs khan. destroyed. oh lets give him another easy title because we know him. ok now lets see him fight porter. destroyed. lets see him fight garcia. destroyed. along the way getting gifts against guys like cano and ngoudjo to keep the charade alive. he made lots of money so great for him

Alot of people dont even realize paulie fought 8 rounds vs a Young strong Cotto with a broken orbital bone. You can clown on paulie but just know hes tougher than you think he is.
True. That's actually where Paulie got his respect from. He was undefeated, unknown, and inexperienced at the top level. Cotto at the time, was popular, and KO'ing almost every top 140 pounder he faced.
just watched the clip someone posted of lobov's bkb fight this past weekend, his opponent kept holding his head and throwing the uppercut with no warning at all from the ref. i am sure the ref has been told to minimize his involvement but that is just stupid. fighters are gonna exploit that and constantly use that tactic
the ring is bigger than i remember it being for when rosado fought at bkb. i favour paulie to win by knockout
No. If you haven't fought bare knuckle you don't know what your in for.
Paul M. Himself doesn't have the atyle....
See the tall kid in my sig? .his dad was a bare knuckle champion who I fought to a draw out of the hospital I Ice covered territory ....split my eye into and he quit
Paul M doesn't scream bare knuckle to me ? IdK...lol.
Are you on meds and drinking alcohol right now? This makes no sense.
Dan Goldman/Silverman/Feldberg/Feldstein/Feldman or whatever his name is (BKFC CEO) probably paid Artem and Malignaggi because he thought it'd draw McGregor to the show and give their new company much needed exposure.
He's probably a bit pissed off that McGregor didn't pay much attention at all and I can't see Pawly as the type to get into a war with Artem Lobov and risk losing. He probably planned to confront McGregor at the Lobov fight but McGregor didn't show obviously.
Lol they are both (Artem and Malignaggi) being paid just to lure McGregor. Funny stuff, but Artem ended up bringing new eyes to the sport anyway with his crazy war with Jason Knight so it ain't all bad.
Have you seen what the "winner" looks like at the end of nearly every single one of these bouts looks like?
What is paulie going to do when his fragile hands break?
If he breaks both hands, he’ll take a knee just like guys would do in regular boxing.
Either way BKB is stupid IMO. All it does is break hands and cut faces.
