Don't be pretending that Froch didn't get rocked and knocked down by Jermain Taylor.
If you fight solid competition and you get caught, you can get rocked.
Not sure why Crawford is being singled out here.
I'm not singling Crawford out. But after the Gamboa fight, anyone would be asking how well he takes a shot.
Taylor didn't rock Froch. He dropped him, but it was a combination, not a single shot.
Yeah, just had a quick look and there's nothing on Bradley knocking him out in sparring. I got it confused with the Russell story. However true that is.
The guy who told the story I believe was Todd Harbib who helped a lot of US amateurs and would pay for their tournament fees. He was the cut man for Lubin, Spence and others. So I mean this is a guy that was certainly in the amateur scene and around all these guys. It's just this story was never confirmed by anyone, like ANYONE. So hard to say if it was true or not.
Anyways, I think Crawford's chin is just fine. Getting rocked on a counter shot you don't see or expect happens to damn near everyone. Doesn't mean a guy like Spence won’t be able to hurt him but the Gamboa moment isn't all that important IMO.
Not any fighter. Froch, Eubank, Vitali, McCall and so on. You could say SOME fighters could go after a good shot, but not everyone.

The GRJ story was supposedly them getting into a street fight when they were amateurs. It was never confirmed by anyone.

I might have got Bradley and Russell Jr mixed up. But i'll go and have a look to see if that's the case.

Bradley KOing Crawford? Never heard that before. All the stories there that came out was Crawford was giving it to Bradley 6 or 7 fights into his career. Bradley even admitted in some interviews that Crawford beat his a^^ a few times and he realized quickly he was no sparring partner.

Fixed your post for you.

And done against a midget.
I also remember the talk way back about Bradly knocking him out in sparring. But I don't know how true this is.
If Crawford gets hit by a good shot against a fighter his size with decent pop, you just never know.

I remember seeing an interview from a black trainer who used to see crawford in the gym and he was adamant he was packing a glass chin and isnt as good as people presume.
Troll alert!
:bsflag:
Crawford has never been down. He doesnt have chin problems. So what Gamboa wobbled him, that was almost 5 years ago and he hasnt been hurt since.
Also fighters chins can improve when the move up in weight if they were cutting a lot of weight. Cotto being rocked by torres at 140 and being in wars with bigger guys at 147 is a prime example.
Why would anyone need to forget about it or make a huge deal out of it? Crawford has faced bigger fighters since then and his chin has held up just fine. Mayweather got buzzed by Corley yet was able to take shots against MUCH bigger and harder hitters as he went up the weight classes. Mikey got dropped by Martinez, yet was able to go 12 rounds with Spence.
