I personally always thought that men's strength advantage came from superior size and this is a woman middleweight taking on a male welterweight. But most people seem to be supporting Paulie which leads me to believe that I am wrong.

Even Paulie would have too much power for a woman boxer In all fairness, Paulie would probably hurt you and me with a flush shot. Just because he isn't a big puncher for a top level boxer, he can still crack better than the average man on the street.

Paulie would win. Paulie can't punch hard but neither can Shields with a weak 2 KOs in 8 fights against women. Paulie may have been a very weak welterweight champion but a men's welterweight champ should beat a women's middleweight champ. Men are better boxers by a large margin.
