.... When it comes to his stamina?
I have to admit, I've been pretty harsh on Joyce since I saw him transgress from amateur to pro. I didn't believe he had the goods to make it to the world stage, but he seems to be making good progress.
Dude is constantly throwing punches, has a great chin and never seems to Gas. Reminds a little of Paul Williams in that sense.
I don't recall any heavyweight having that kind of motor. Ali maybe? But he was different in the sense that he'd happily dance for 15 rounds, and would only commit to offence in selected spots.
It's good thing that Joyce and his team decided to pass on Luis Ortiz because had they not he would have been fucked up. Ortiz would have countered the shit out of him at will during those exchanges with Stiverne.
I thought Stiverne had a chance, until i saw that right hand land in the first and Joyce didn't even react to it.
I thought he had a punchers chance, but not after seeing him at the weigh in lol.
And yea, I was hoping that he gets caught with a few flush shots just to see how he holds up. To his credit he didn't even flinch lol.
Wilder put Stiverne to sleep.
Joyce didn't do that and he was landing some bombs.
Joyce is good but not great.
He can't beat any of the top 3.
You're missing the point of the thread, just highlighting the fact that he has a tremendous motor, that's all.
No one over 250 that's for sure. He's a new breed. Really have to stop him in his tracks and have stamina and or speed to defeat him ,maybe both ?
Stiverne definitely had the right idea by attempting to counter with the right hand over Joyce's jab. I think he'll definitely struggle with a world class sharp shooter as he continues his ascent if he doesn't have a Plan B.
He does seem to have a good engine, but at the same time, it's not like he's putting everything behind the shots. A lot of them are arm punches, so he's not in huge danger of really loading up and punching himself out. Maybe that works in his favour, if there's enough on the arm punches to keep his opponent wary.
At the end of the day though, throwing arm punches at Stiverne for 8 rounds isn't much different to doing 8 rounds at your own pace on a heavy bag without loading up. Any fighter should be able to do that.
Yea, definitely think the technique (or lack of) may work in his favour in that sense.
Fair play with the Stiverne comment, you'll still see some of the bigs guys gassing a bit though.
This must be a wind up.
It's not >.>
Yes some prospect of today is in fact the greatest boxer in human history based on his historic defeat of Bermane Stiverne.
All I've done is highlight one of his characteristics that I'm impressed with. Not saying he's an ATG by any stretch of the imagination.
You mean "progress" from amateur to pro, not "transgress".
Take it as you will bruhh
