next year two years from now? he's taking several steps back since the pedraza fight. do his handlers know something we don't? maybe they know he's all hype and they are trying to milk him some more before he gets fed to the true elites in the sport.
Davis is an undefeated world champion with 19 KOs out of his 20 wins. Boxrec and Ring both rank him the 2nd best Jr lightweight in the world. I think he is a damn good fighter and I would bet on him to beat any 130 pound boxer. He is not a hype job in my opinion.
So why the need for him to fight Loma then if he's never been ranked 1 any division and has less than 20 fights at 24. HIs competition is what it is as he grows. Was Canelo to green at 23 when he had over 40 fights and a unified champ at 154? Or is that only an excuse when it comes to Canelo being dominated by a past it 36 yr old Floyd? Some people are already protecting Munguia, hes too young and green yet is a champion. I feel if your a champ at any age, then you should take on any challenge and stop with the too young excuses. Thats for every fighter, but I see some get a pass while others get hated on.
There’s no need for it. I think Gervonta is trash. I just think he talks too much and he should try to back up his words. Talking trash about Loma saying he’d kill him but then saying “oh but I won’t fight him”, “it’s not a good idea” and such talk is weak.
I’d only like to see the Gervonta fight to see the Loma haters and PBC/LDBC fanboys get all into it, proclaim he’s gonna kick his ass and then get clowned and see them all jump off the bandwagon and stop hyping him.
A better question is when will, if ever the Gervonta fans and media put pressure on him to step up? Do they even want these new gen americans to step up? It doesn't even seem like their fans want them to make these fights. So weird.
Why not? Brook is living off his Porter win after fighting euro bums for over 10 years into his career. And yet people consider him some elite fighter.
Shhh.. don't tell the Errol Spence fans that. They act like beating Brook was the best win of the decade.
He can't keep living off that Pedraza win forever...

Meh. He won a belt, lost it and was gifted one back by the shady WBA in the same division.
He’s never been ranked #1 in a division and his competition is widely considered to be amongst the worst of current champions.

I think he should fight Salido next. That would be a step up. Salido is a solid vet however he is well past it. Tank needs to be in with someone like that who will make him work so we can really see where he is at.
Salido is tough and he has some good wins including...........
Pedraza wasn't a step up 2 Years Ago? Tank just turned 24 in November, I think people forget how YOUNG he still is but yeah better match ups are coming as long as HE stays in shape and stop ranting at his promoter for just the most random sh#t on social media
Tevin Farmer fight should be next if both win their next fights
This is an erroneous comparison to begin with. Loma and Davis both fought the same guy. Devon didn't fight Floyd. In order for Maidana to "almost beat" Floyd he would've needed one judge to give Chino the fight. Even if Pernick gave 115-113 to Maidana, it's still a Majority Decision for Floyd.
So, Marquez didn’t almost beat Pacquaio in fight III? Or Kovalev in a universal robbery vs. Ward? Trinidad-De La Hoya? De La Hoya-Whitaker? All fights were the majority felt the loser won yet didn’t get one vote.
Loma didn’t fight Davis since Davis ducked him and won’t fight him so isn’t the Pedraza comparison just as erroneous?
lets not forget that machado is the real wba champ as he is the super champ. davis is really only a one time belt holder.
Yeah, Davis is a paper champ currently. Machado legit won the belt off Corrales who was more credentialed than Pedraza too.
Davis was a belt holder not a champ. He’s never earned a #1 rating in any division.
Yall are haters.
Loma is fightin' smaller guys, yet when davis does its a problem?
let the man be
I'll be throwing a pizza party with big dunn for the ruiz fight, to celebrate this mans acomplishments
you can't dominate where two judges had two identical scores, giving Pedraza 3 rounds. domination is 1 round at best. Pedraza should've been KO'd by the 11th.
Pedraza took a lot of damage from Davis. Somehow Davis isn't credited for that.
He is credited. Pedraza also fought a smarter fight vs. Loma perhaps learning from mistakes which can happen in boxing. Loma came off a major surgery and visibly only used one arm for the majority and yes he dominated. Pedraza shared the ring with both and said Lomachenko is by far the better fighter. That’s good insight from a man who’d know.
Devon Alexander shut out Maidana and then Maidana almost beat Floyd. Would Devon have beaten Floyd?
