On Mikey & Loma: "They are not the best"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RFYeUvcsc8c
Think he's trying to imply that he, himself is the best by speaking like that.
Either way, what are your thoughts on this kid? How much longer can he make 135?
He looks good so far but he has yet to defeat a top 30 opponent and nothing remotely close to a top 10 contender. When and if he beats a legit top 10 contender I will take him seriously as a future champ. Boxrec ranks him 60th in the world and the guy he KOed yesterday they ranked 61st in the world. All the other guys he beat were ranked 240th in the world or much lower.
Lopez is the real deal.
Beats anyone at 135 by next year.
If Mikey can ever get back down to 135 in good health (especially after the Spence fight), I would disagree.
There are levels to this sh it, he isn’t ready for Loma yet.Too many people are wined, dined, and seduced by an unbeaten puncher with ZERO defense, proven by his pancake flat nose. Lopez would have his hands full and wouldnt be able to go through these guys and keep his "0", probably even lose to at least a couple of them: Haney, Tank, Commey, Prograis, Taylor, Ramirez, Hooker.
He's talented & I feel like he'll be a title holder one day & be or contend for the #1 spot in a division or maybe 2, but I don't see that happening at 135 vs Loma in the near future. I don't even think TR lets that fight happen. Can't have your top two guy fight your number 1 prospect.
Remember our little debate on this like a month ago? Loma is getting GOT if TR gives Lopez the opportunity! Take it to the bank!
Good fighter, very entertaining. I dont like how he gloats over a knocked out opponent like that though. And somebody here said he does fortnite dances and that is just dumb if he’s dancing like phaggy video game character.
He is young and has time to mature in that area. But i do see him getting beat by lomachenko or mikey right now thats not to say he cant improve. I dont think hell ever beat loma as I believe hes the lb for lb best. Id love to see him in against haney as we’ll see how he handles a good boxer with more movement and speed
I’d pick him over the best at 130 - Machado, Berchelt, Davis but he’s not ready for Loma or Mikey yet. He’s got a big future if handled well. Haney could be in it too and Ramirez, Prograis, Taylor, Loma etc;
His speed and explosiveness are his best assets...kinda reminiscent of a young roy in that sense. It’ll be interesting to see him against someone he isn’t miles ahead of in terms of speed. He’s definitely got talent and is fun to watch...his over celebration and lame fortnite dances gotta go tho. After you ko someone in scary fashion isn’t really the time to be dancing around like a circus clown imo.
Been on the Teofimo Lopez train from day one. He has another year at 135 before he has to move up.
I'm not going to go back on my prediction, so if he fights Loma by end of 2019 or early 2020, he will beat him…. Likely by late round stoppage. Lopez is the real deal. One thing he could do better is move his head more, but he's super strong and can counter punch with the best of them. I want to see him in with someone that will show him movement though. Want to see how he deals with that style.
Pedraza is going to get beat up just like he did against Tank…. May be even worse though!
Agreed with the bold. He should work a little more on defense. That chin will be tested going forward.
