listen I used to be a big fan of one time he's a guy who has skills and used tons of movement but was not afraid of going for the knock out. thurman hasn't had a knock out since washed up collazo four years ago and that was more so collazo quitting on his stool. combine the fact he took off two years for what seems like minor injuries like an elbow/hand problem yes I know he had surgery still two years was too much and a change in his fighting personality where he now thinks he's sweet pea has turned me off. what about you guys?
I don't have issues with Thurman's style, although he can move a bit much at times. I would love to see him slip and counter while holding his ground a little more because I think it'd allow him to conserve more energy.
He relies too much on his footwork. Keiths got no head movement and he can't fight on the inside. I have an inkling current Manny might be a good matchup for him stylistically, but he gets his ass beat by Spence or Crawford
Man I swear boxing fans complain about everything...tell you what...go put on a pair of gloves and show the world how it is done
You're making too much sense. Shame on you. Lol
His style has evolved both mentally and physically, I said this a couple of days ago. He knows he can’t “one time “ the guys at this level, so he literally uses a lot of movement these days especially when he is hurt.
I think Keith realized that at the elite level his power just wasn't as huge as the hype.
He is a runner on defense, mainly because i believe he believes that is a low risk option compared to staying in the pocket too long or holding / spoiling.
He changed his style because he had to stay competitive, so a smart decision if you like.
this is pretty accurate. can't rely on power at an elite level.
ZERO problem with Thurman Style!
He been blessed with Speed and Good Footwork to get himself out of Trouble, he would be STUPID not to use it to his advantage. Undefeated, World Champion and considered one of the best at Welterweight in his ERA. Thurman doesn't need to change ANYTHING and the last thing he should do is take advice from us common folks who NEVER BOXED! Just being honest :dunno:
fighting smarter always makes fans angry,
Only the "fans" that wanna see you lose.
Good points. Only certain guys are required to fight in a way that helps the other guy win.

I have no faith in him anymore. I think his best days are long gone.

You do realize Thurman threw 899 punches and landed 247 right? I can see being put off if he was only throwing < 35 punches per round like Floyd or Broner, but he was very active while using his footwork to outland Lopez.
He threw 899 punches but 527 of them were jabs he through out there and only landed 79 of them. Josesito threw 156 jabs in contrast. Both through around the same number of power punches though.

He has always been a boring watch. The moment he feels the least bit of danger, he goes into defensive mode and uses his legs to simply circle the ring again and again and again, only picking and choosing his spots to throw a quick combo. It is on par with Porter's head-first football style, near unwatchable for me. But at least Porter is a likable guy, whereas Keith comes off like a delusional narcissist who badmouths far more accomplished fighters like Floyd and Manny.
I agree. He made his name he has because of his power. Now he seems afraid to go toe to toe and mix it up on the inside. He ran from josesito for christs sake. His defense is no where near pretty or fun to watch like mayweather or lomachenko. Now he is claiming he is the champ and gets to cherry pick. He has only beaten 2 top tier fighters and now seems scared to face Crawford or spence and is chasing a paydaywith pacquiao. He not the same fighter
