He throws the same sequence of punches over and over. I wasnt blown away when i first saw him but now im positive that he wont last long..
Julian williams would ruin this guy and so would all the other top guys.
I think he's the best example of the weight-bully fighter out there and also the best demonstration on how falling into that mould can damage your development as a fighter. When you look like King Kong next to most of your opponents and they can't hurt you, you can win fights just by standing in front of them and trading. However, by fighting that way you don't learn to use essential skills like blocking, defensive footwork or head movement. Reportedly Munguia had trouble making weight for this fight so he'll probably have to move up to MW soon. There, he'll now be on even footing with his opponents physically, except he's probably going to have inferior defence against guys who do have all that stuff in their toolkit. If I were him I'd move up now and start getting rounds in against respectable middleweight opposition while he's still young enough to justify doing so rather than spend any longer rolling over light middleweights and stagnating.
He has a fan friendly style but it wouldn’t last him in the game. He is too young to be fighting like that, reminds me of Fernando Vargas. Who had retire in early age.

Same reason I loved Gatti fights.
Sit back and enjoy the show.
He really does need to vary his punches though
Yeah, I lost quite a bit of enthusiasm for Munguia when he didn't finish Liam Smith. Liam is a good pro and all but I thought Jaime should have ended that early. Similar to tonight in that, he landed a bunch of hard shots but didn't get the opponent out of there. I'm starting ot think those KO numbers were mainly due to fight so-so competition. His defense leaves a lot to be desired but I'm not sure if he seemingly ignores defending because he isn't getting hurt or if he's just stubborn.
He will obliterate Hogan and then move up to 160. Dude is still young as hell, so there is a lot of potential development, but I admit he seems like a guy who is kinda set in his ways. He's strong as **** and will throw a ton of punches and try to KO everybody. Great for fans, but not the kinda style that will hold up in the long run or allow you to have a long career. Still, I will watch every fight this guy is in. When he gets to 160, I'd like to see him start with Rosado and then go after another Jap...Murata!:boxing:
Agreed not impressed. He should not be holding a belt. He should be working his way up.
Fights like a simpleton is pretty accurate IMO.
Why shouldnt he?? He dominated Sadam Ali who took it from cotto.
