There has been some rubbish career moves there. He also had a bit of bad luck, after he was stabbed obviously he wasn't going to come back in a big fight, also the IBF give him some crappy mandatory fights which never helped matters. Those things i can't blame him for, especially the fighters IBF made him fight if he wanted to keep the belt. Going up to fight GGG and then two divisions back down to fight Spence was the biggest mistake. At least he was consistent though, he still refused to drop the IBF belt and avoid Spence. So at least he didn't take the rubbish mandatory opponents then drop the belt at the first hard fight like some fighters do, he took on all comers for his belt, even if it meant killing himself to go back down two divisions. Had he stayed at 147 and not fought GGG, i truly believe that Spence fight might've been very different. I still give Spence a lot of credit, but he caught Brook at the very best time he could. I’m not dissing Brook as a fighter obviously he showed massive balls to fight Golovkin and went back down in weight and fought Spence right after , He went to enemy territory and beat Porter. He has heart But as far as making the right career decision wouldn’t a unification with Vargas been a better move which at the time was being negotiated. I mean Brook would have been favoured, had a opportunity to get a 2nd strap and he looked at as the #1 WW instead he takes a fight which was basically a suicide mission Fighting a faded Cotto for potentially a strap and a HOFs scalp surely is better then fighting a former sparring partner And yeah with the exception of Spence the IBf mandos week to always be a no hopers but in the 2 years from the time he beat Porter to the time he fought Golovkin his 1 voluntary was Gavin surely there’s a better name he could have fought in a 2 year span then that Just think Brooks team have done a horrible job guiding his career the last 5 years with the fights he takes

So he should hsve just gone and cherry picked his way to maintaining an 0 by fighting Brandon rios and jessie vargas? Ive got more respect for him for fighting ggg and then spence straight after than i would if he had a manufactured 0. I think at the time a unification fight with Vargas ( a fight you’d think he’d be the favourite in ) would have been a better career move then jumping up 2 weight classes To get beat down in a fight he never really Stood a chance in a fight no wanted wanted. I think fighting Rios or any other Known WW thatbwas discussed instead of Frankie Gavin would have been the better career choice Taking the Cotto fight when presented and potentially getting a strap and a scalp of a HOF is sure better then fighting a unknown former sparring partner It’s not about a manufactured 0 it’s about Brook spending the majority of the last 5 years fighting scrubs even though there were good names and options from r him then when he decides to step up it’s a fight that he didn’t really stand a chance in I just think he and his team have mismanaged his career after he beat Porter. I can’t really think of a top end fighter that’s Done such a bad job in progessing their career as far opposition he’s faced and potential fights that never materialized in the last 5 years as Brook

Fighting ggg was stupid and a fight not requested by anybody at all. It was very unnecessary. I’ll say the same thing if mikey becomes damaged goods after spence

I can’t think of any top level fighter who’s team has done such a sh.it job in guiding his career in the last 4 1/2 -5 years since he won his strap off Porter After he gets the strap he spends the next 2 years rushing to fight his Mandos before he needed , both of which were unknown unheard of no hopers. His voluntary was against Gavin who I guess had a name in the UK but it was another sh.it opponent During this time rumours of a potential Jessie Vargas in a unification fight or other Brandon Rios or other known WWs never materialize. All fights you’d figure he’d be favoured in When Brook then decides to fight a actual opponent he has to jumps up 2 weight classes and fight Golovkin a fight that he stood almost no chance of winning. He ends up getting beat down and his face broke Fights his Mando, Spence who breaks the other side of his face Turns down what you’d think would have been decent $, a strap , and to be on HBO to fight a legend in Cotto in his last fight a Fight he probably had a good shot at winning. 3 months later fights a unknown unheard of no hopers who was a former Sparring partner, Follows that up by fighting a another unknown no hopper who was a male stripper. And still waits and hopes for a Khan fight which most likely never happens. He’s basically fought nobodies this entire span while missing out on a unification fight , a fight against a future HOF and other credible names , with the exception of a Mando and a fight he stood almost no chance of winning. Talk about not making good career moves His career has been a complete and utter joke. Hearn/Matchroom have guided him terribly but it’s on him as well, he’s spent years chasing Khan instead of looking to face the best in his division. I don’t even feel sorry for him, even now he’s still following Khan around like a lost puppy, instead of looking for titles at 154, he’s boiling back down to 147 in some desperate attempt for a Khan payday. He even followed him up to Middleweight.😂😂 It’s the same cycle again and again, it’s literal insanity. Him quitting in front of his dumbass deluded Matchroom FC fans is one of the most enjoyable things I’ve experienced live though😂😂
