I think Linares is good fighter but he cant handle a bigger fighter he would have not handled Mikey who has the power and boxing ability. Look at his last fights- Crolla x2, Campbell- not big punchers, and had close 1st fight with Crolla and Campbell fight was close despite Campbell getting dropped, Gesta- who? Loma- smaller fighter coming up in weight, not a lot of power who tore his shoulder in the second round and still manged to KO him. Cotto- lol I know some thought it would be close or Mikey was ducking but here's another pressure fighter that just blasted him. According to pips here Mikey ducked linares and loma because he’s so scared of them that he then proceeds to fight a guy who can KO them all 3 in one night lol

Oscar wanted a 50/50 split when Linares has never been a draw. Mikey has been fighting in front of 10k+ while Linares can't even bring in 3k to his fights, I should know cause I was at the Forum when he headlined there. Big reason why GB would always sent Linares to the UK for fights. Linares was hyped up by GB, the Ring Mag writers and GB kissasses Steve Kim, Montoya and Dougie.

I highly doubt Bob was offering as much money or more for Loma as Al is for Spence. I definitely think Mikey goes where the money is. And if it was more money it certainly wasn't without options or other bs Mikey is smart enough to avoid now. I also think he's two steps ahead of most boxers & fans in general. Cuz even if the money WAS better with Arum the play here is STILL fighting Spence. I mean legit think about it. If he wins he's a huge player at 147 & is catching paydays left & right & hell maybe he could even be in play for some crazy Floyd comeback fight payday if he got really lucky. And if he loses he was supposed to lose & can move back down to fight Loma or whoever is offering the best money. The Loma fight at 135 is still viable after catching an L to Spence at 147. I don't think many would say a Spence fight at 147 is viable after a Loma L at 135. Granted a Loma W at 135 could boost his pay for Spence at 147, but personnally I don't think he's winning either of those fights (although Loma getting dropped by Linares does give me a lil more of a feel of a close fight than I previously had) + there is nothing all that great at 135 if he wins except a Loma rematch. The move is 147 for the dare to be great play. And if it turns out Mikey isn't great at 147 he can chase greatness one more time at 135 do over style. Mikey is the smartest mfer getting hit in the head for money right now I think. And I keep saying Mikey's best days are post-boxing which isn't something I'm saying about too many guys in this business. I 100% agree with this. What irks me though are his fans. It's a calculated risk with built in safety nets. A business decision. Daring to be great is about legacy. Mikey is doing this because its the best business decision he had left and could make. Losing to Lomachenko literally ends his career. Mikey isnt a big name. Hes not a big draw. He thinks he is, but truth is hes not. He needs this publicity. If he loses to lomachenko what does he do? Who does he fight? No one with a big name. No one who can make him a lot of money. He could fight Linares, but that's a already a fight he rejected and someone Lomachenko already beat. He would be right back at the bottom again and would have to work his way up. If he lost to Lomachenko, then a potential spence fight would NEVER happen as he doesnt have that "invincibility " anymore and wouldn't sell. Who would Mikey Garcia be? Hes already like 31. He doesnt have anymore time. He cant rebuild himself. This is the FAR riskier risk. Spence is just a low risk high reward decision for Mikey. If he loses he loses nothing. If he wins he wins everything. Easy choice. Yet his fans deny this.

Lets not try to change history or the narrative. The WBC ordered Mikey Garcia to fight his mandatory in Linares late 2017. Mikey is the guy who didnt want the fight. He couldnt come to terms with Golden boy who wanted him to sign with him and he dropped the fight. He claimed he got better offers and that they, Linares and himself could have a fight in between to make the fight bigger aka Linares vs Gesta and Mikey vs Lipinets. Keep in mind it was announced Dec 14 2017 that Mikey would be fighting Lipnets. Linares didn't even start negotiating with Lomachenko didnt even start until December 2017. When Mikey beat Lipnets instead of fighting his mandatory he was granted permission to unify which takes president over mandatories. And when Linares lost to Lomachenko that ended that. Mikey went where he says the money was. The dude didnt even care about fighting Linares one bit. Thing is too, hes a hypocrite because the most money would be made unifying 135 with Lomachenko on ESPN which he can fight for because hes a free agent. The guy thinks he can be the best fighter in tbe world by picking off paper champs instead of fighting the best fighters at his own weight class?
