When Canelo decided to fight Danny Jacobs for his middleweight titles, he effectively ended GGG's career.
He already did that to some degree in the ring, but Canelo's moves since the fight have to be destroying GGG's confidence, and his image of himself, earning potential.
Canelo got a record deal, won another fight and yet another "belt", turns around, and lines up one of the biggest fights in the division.
Canelo does not need GGG, and if he does fight him again, GGG will be at least a year older than their last fight, and by that time, the fight will not be as intriguing as it once was.
There is nobody at ESPN, PBC means Charlo, his only choice is to go to DAZN, and play second fiddle to Canelo, which his ego won't allow him to do.
GGG should walk away, Canelo ruined him physically, and at this point, he could get beaten by a lesser fighter which will all but cancel his resume since he will have zero wins over a fighter that could be considered great.
The old man needs to head into the sunset.
Kazakhstan.
--- 'Pologies for forgetting his origins that have slipped after after the Kbros started promoting him to his current, almost international presence.
He's not being taught another approach that's my point. If he had some of those skills they have been allowed to rust away. Sanchez was pissed at him after the rematch for not fighting Canelo toe to toe even thought Canelo has faster hands and a great chin. In other words stick to the system. To me that's not indicative of a trainer that is flexible or trains his fighters to be more versatile. If he wanted Golovkin to maul and brawl him you'd think some of that would have shown up in videos out of the gym.
fair enough if you think GGG isnt good enough to raise himself to elite level.
--- Last I checked he's playing the big shots off each other to double his substantial career earnings.
Not bad for a poor boy from Ukraine.
Kazakhstan.
power which mysteriously disappears when hes fighting someone good.
so why doesnt he learn another approach if its not good enough at top level. Perhasp you mean hes just not capable of reaching that next level.
yeh Sturm is the reason why another human being doesnt win a title until they are 34. Its someone elses fault! Read some of the rubbish you write.
Hagler is a man who was avoided, and he finished an ATG career a full two years before he turned 34. But its Sturms fault that Golovkin didnt! oh boohoo.

They don’t understand that a 28 year old PRIME Canelo smokes a 28 year old Golovkin. A 36 year old Canelo beats a 36 year old GGG, and avoiding tough fights benefits longevityit might be true, but we'll never know because ONE of them wasnt bothering to fight anyone till he turned 34.
thus giving his fans a free pass to claim "he would have".
well if my name would have been Marvin Hagler I'd be in Italy stuck between two hot buns!
Boy that's a bit dramatic. They had two fights and in the polls I've seen a majority had Golovkin winning both.
After that it's just business maneuvering.
I don't think anyone's confidence was destroyed.
coming from Big Bear where Golovkin is doing something other than hitting the mitts with power?? power which mysteriously disappears when hes fighting someone good.

One of the reasons he only won a world title at age 34 is he was avoided by Strum yeh Sturm is the reason why another human being doesnt win a title until they are 34. Its someone elses fault! Read some of the rubbish you write.

Yeah he was prime at age 28. .sure his physical prime is his 20s, but the skill to come with it came later.
.. in his 20s he was only able to KO multiple bums and win a bum title. You forget that he became pro quite late, so he developed slower than someone starting earlier, its commonsense.
In his early 30s he won a world title in the ring.
The difference is marked.
Yeah it's caught up with him, he never committed to fighting great fighters, was only interested if they were smaller than him.
you mean like hagler did??
u know what sub means and euro means, dont kid yourself.
i'm not claiming 36 is prime, i am saying its post prime. If you have an issue with someone elses figures talk to them about it, not me. I'm not the vent for your frustrations with others.
Yeah he was prime at age 28. I think he was a better fighter at 28 physically and his with his technique. I don't think Sanchez did much except change his style to a more fan friendly one. He always had a great jab, he always had the power. Sanchez changed his style to block with his gloves more don't move your head as much and stay balanced. Which is good but not as popular with judges. If I still had the link I would post it. It's a trainer explaining why that style doesn't always work in the modern age of scoring. He claims that West Coast fighters are trained to throw lots of punches in combination because it's too hard for judges to determine which ones don't land clean or barely miss. They usually get the benefit of the doubt. They have a built in advantage with judges. I think he's right. This is just my opinion and yours is valid not trying to pick a fight here just giving a different take on this. I've always had aproblem with Sanchez's philosophy of "We don't adjust to our opponent we force him to adjust to us. How often do you see videos coming from Big Bear where Golovkin is doing something other than hitting the mitts with power?? One of the reasons he only won a world title at age 34 is he was avoided by Strum then had to restart again when he moved to the US.
This is what you said and I don't agree.
wasnt prime at 28 for sure, he was subeuro then, fighting at subeurolevel all the time. He obviously bloomed late if he was only winning a world title at 34.
The other point is referring to a fighters prime. Their physical prime is a lot closer to 28 than 36. I still don't get what subeuro means. u know what sub means and euro means, dont kid yourself.

subeuro opposition at 28
whats your other point's relevance to me?

Let me guess .. to you GGG looks exactly the same in these 2 highlight videos, yeah?
nope, ggg did not care about his defense vs vanes, he knew he was fighting someone much smaller than him, same can be said about the brook fight...
Why would he walk away now when he can still sign a massive multi million dollar fight deal? lmao
Given his age and the results of the Canelo fights, who exactly is gonna sign him to a massive multi million dollar deal? Not likely. HBO folding up hurt GGG more than any other fighter.
Did GGG get wobbled by Vanes in that video?
He did look his age for a moment, being caught clean by a punch he didn't see coming. He had to take a step back to reset, but it didn't exactly wobble him.
