The fight can deliver, but I believe it will be one-sided.
Why I say that? Because Broner's lack of activity in the early rounds. He always rallies towards the end of the fight, but Pacman is dangerous no matter what round you're against him.
Can it be competitive? Yes it can. Broner needs to establish the jab early in the fight and punish Pacman also early whenever he tries to land the signature straight left hand he throws between mid combinations, if he wants to stand a chance.
If he doesn't, Pacman is going to uses combinations all night long and when Broner tries to counter and up-and-coming one later in the fight, that will be where Pacman knocks him down with a right hook or an uppercut.
What do you all say to how the fight goes about :beerchug:
I see first two rounds starting slow, feeling out, no one really committing. Pac likely lands a few solid jabs to the face and body. Things start to heat up in the third. Pac gets into a rhythm based on Broner's limited output and aggression, allowing Pac to land more and pot shot. Middle rounds are all Pac. Broner comes on a little in later rounds but it's too little, too late. Pac by UD or possibly even a late round TKO/stoppage. He might even score a flash knockdown or two.
WOW. LOL that is exactly what I see happening.
This is not a cakewalk for Pac. I believe we are going to see a better Broner than we've seen in years.
Don't be fooled by Pac's KO of Matthysse. Matthysse was washed. The jury is still out on whether or not Pac still has it. He may get in the ring on January 19 and look like the 40-year-old he is.
I would rather see Pac vs Mikey Garcia instead. Let's see how everything goes after the Spence fight. Whether Mikey decides to move back down to 135 and fight Loma or remain at 147 and challenge Pac.
I got Pac by unanimous decision. Broner has not been the same since the Maidana fight. He tends to be bit more gun shy now and in addition, has become more reluctant in throwing punches. I believe Pac uses different angles and combination punches to an easy decision win.
If pacquiao hasnt slowed down enough, he is too mobile and his work rate is too high for broner.
Broner wont be sharp enough to punish pacquiao jumping in and out.
At one point he will change to his high guard walking down style that he uses late in the fight. But he actually cant really cut off the ring and pacquiao usually has good stamina and wont tire that much late.
Broner will shake his head around 18 times.
Broner better start early and let that punch go--this is not the time to be timid. He is in danger of becoming another Joshua Clottey where instead of a blossoming career because he fought an ATG, he met a career death because fans totally lost respect to what he did (which is nothing) in the ring.
Manny will be pressuring Broner all night and have him backpedaling. Broner is awful against pressure fighters and this fight will be no different.
I don't see Manny knocking him out though. Will be a 1 sided fight with Manny winning 9-10 rounds.
I'm thinking of placing a bet ($) on Pacquiao over Broner but i'm not sure how much. All I know is that it should be a relatively easy win for Pacquiao, whether he cruises to a UD or gets the stoppage. I think a stoppage is hard though, Broner's never been stopped and Pacquiao is older now and needs to exert more energy to stop dudes.
Pacquiao is still in his prime, clearly as good as he ever was, but Broner is a better fighter and will win by KO round 7, whilst ahead 58-56/ #levels.
When a boxer with fast hands attacks Broner hard with a two fisted attack and punches coming at him from all angles he shells up and won't throw punches. His defense is just a bear hug clinch. He lost round after round this way to Maidana, Porter and Mikey. Pacquiao is faster and throws more punches than any of those three that easily beat Broner. Pacquiao should win most or every round by throwing and landing over twice as many punches round after round than the gun shy Broner who won't risk getting hit to land his own punches. There will be no late fight rally by Broner.
AB comes out and meets Manny in the center of the ring to feel out Manny. (Ist rd)
3rd rd on... Pacquaio will be too fast for Broner & AB will retreat to the ropes & attempt his Bootleg shoulder roll & Pac will begin to pick him apart. Could be Broner's first stoppage loss as the ref will jump in and save him somewhere mid to second half of the fight.
--- First bell rings and undercover deputies jump in the ring to arrest Boner on multi counts of child support negligence.
Baby mamas everywhere rejoice...
