In my opinion Mikey is right on target. Looking good and he'll shed that fat the last few weeks before the fight.

To much weight gain can slow you down True but when done right can workout pretty good. Mikey getting the JMM treatment and it shows.

Looking good 10 weeks out, he gained a bit of muscle mass but not too much, now it's time to condition the heart and lungs to pump enough oxygen rich blood to those bigger muscles for 12 high intensity rounds. If he would've gained more lean muscle mass it would've made it harder on the lungs and heart but like this he looks fine. I like to see fighter gain weight at the right places though like on the shoulders and back, not necessarily on the arms since that just tires u out and limits your reach. We'll have to wait and see on fight night. It might all come down to Mikey's durability, can he take the punishment as good as he's able to dish it out? can he avoid the punishment all together? will it be a combo of both like Ray Leonard vs Marvin Hagler? does he have enough dirty tricks up his sleeve to stall and steal rounds? I can't wait for that fight! yes at his age easy to put on as much muscle mass as one desires. with that logic everyone should be a HW. I wonder what Mikey saw in Spence that made him seek out this fight. I think Spence is huge, and unless he is having trouble making weight (which I have not heard) then the good big man, beats the good little man. in order to make the weight and still stay strong spence got better gear then garcia

Well, if we learned anything from our posters you know it's physically impossible to gain muscle mass with out the use of Roids. Mikes on the juice. at his age yes it is impossible get BIGGER muscles you can get cut but not bigger muscle. body stops producing the chemicals at 24 so you inject them. but he might be clean cause I heard he is taking flintstone vitamins to bulk up

Ocpancho, I actually meant to type' that he was the reighning Lightwgt champion. And thanks for the correction, yes he only had 1 loss prior to his 1st fight with Sugar Ray. Man that was 39 years ago! Where did my life go?! Duran settled that third fight with De Jesus then got out of that division where nobody was going to touch him anymore. Didn't even bother fighting Cervantes at 140 . Not that Cervantes wanted any part of him anyway. Mikey does not have Duran's soft neck and wrists though. Freaking nobody then moved that head to his advantage and wrist-hooked small openings like Duran. Too back those free-thumb gloves are gone. Interesting comment. True Duran did not looked ripped. One thing Duran had coming into the fight with Leonard (me) was that he was reigning Lightweight champ, and had a record of 72 wins & 2 loses.. Duran had also fought a couple of fights at 147 lbs. And one thing I always noticed when a very skilled fighter moves up in weight, they tend to be much quicker & are able to slip punches. And that’s what I realized about Duran early on in the fight. He wasn’t easy to hit. He was no longer the reigning lightweight champ when he fought Leonard. He had to vacate the title. He had one loss when he fought Leonard.
