My thought too, but Lomachenko was 1/2 when he fought GRJ, so technically not a losing record (also that was actually Lomas second title fight, though the TS doesn't say it has to be their first I think)
TS already said it was this dude:

Fought for the WBA Superfly after a debut win followed by two losses.
Yeah exactly this...
Loma was 1-1 so his record was even.
Thanks. I guess I didn't read the first post well or it wasn't clear enough. Enjoy the holiday, bro. Cheers.
No problem, man. All the best to you and your loved ones over the coming year.:beerchug:

Lomachenko? Didn't Loma have one loss and one win as a pro when he first fought for a world title? Not sure...

Who was the last fighter to fight for a world title with only one win and a losing record?

This is a disgraceful mismatch only in Thailand can you don stuff like that
Wilfredo Gomez actually did something similar for the WBC super bantamweight title. Can’t think of the guys name but he was like 6-18
Incredible knowledge bro!!!
Got iced clean with a left hook in 2 rounds against Yokthai Sithoar for the WBA Light Flyweight title in 1996.

Thanks.
I actually didn't know the answer off the top of my head... but when I come across something as unusual as this, I usually write it down. So it didn't take long to find it in my notes.

Lomachenko... though his record was 50/50 so not losing overall even though he was coming off a loss.
I don't know. It seems like a boxer with only 1 win should not be allowed to fight for the title but Patterson did defend his title against an amateur champion with no pro wins.
