The wbo have started a new title called the global champion. Do they not understand world and global are the same thing. I don’t know how to post pics but it’s on their Facebook page
Casuals can easily be fooled
Rocky fielding vs canelo is for a "world title"
More fighters can call themselves "world champion"
No clarity at all
No scrutiny except for a handful of hardcore fans like us on forums and social media
That's the belt you and your 2 friends will receive as a payment for doing God's work on this forum :hail:
Don't think the WBA is happy with me trying to draw attention to the creation of the WBA gold championship.
WBA recently created the WBA gold championship, but refuses to explain what it is.

Is it the Oceanic renamed or is that just a rumor?
Yup. Kinda. I put a link above. Apparently some of the other fringe nations that don't fall under other regional groupings (like Hungary for instance, though why they ain't in with Europe is anyone's guess) have, bizarrely, been put under the jurisdiction of the Trans - Oceanic, but raised complaints about the name, since - well - they ain't anywhere near an Ocean.
The solution was the kind of stroke of genius you only get when you put together a committee and tell 'em to solve a problem... :lol1:
But when Leigh discussed the proposed jurisdiction of the Trans-Oceanic, which would be an organization that would sanction fights in Australia, New Zealand, Asia, and Eastern Europe, Kovacs voiced his concerns.

“We (Hungary) have no part of (the) Ocean,” Kovacs said. “Romania has no part of Ocean. Bulgaria has no part of Ocean.”
Day two of the 31st annual WBO Convention kicked off Wednesday Morning (October 31) and after a morning of furious negotiations between WBO Vice President of Europe Istvan “Koko” Kovacs and Australian member Danny Leigh, the WBO Trans-Oceanic was renamed and approved after a unanimous vote. Leigh, Kovacs, and WBO Vice President of Asia-Pacific Leon Panoncello originally reached a compromise name of WBO Global Nations, a suggestion that was met with little enthusiasm from WBO President Francisco “Paco” Valcarcel.
“I’ve got my concerns,” Valcarcel said after hearing the new name, “You don’t think we could create a problem with that organization…with that name?”
Valcarcel proposed simply striking the last half of the proposed name, going instead with WBO Global. Although some members expressed concern about WBO Global creating some confusion between global and world titles, the overall reception to the new name was positive and the board unanimously voted to approve WBO Global as the newest regional belt.
why did the boxing public even start recognizing the WBO in the first place? They were already complaining about too many champions after the IBF formed.
That's soooo much bullch1t. Obviously we don't need a silly 'Global' champion. What we really need is a champion of the Solar System... umm... and maybe a Galactic Champion too. The WBO are thinking too small.
EDIT: Just done a little searching around and it turns out the 'Global' title is essentially a rebrand of the Trans-Oceanic title... apparently there was some heated debate over jurisdiction...

Lol.
Don't say that bro you will give them ideas.
Fuk WBO and another paper belt.
We need less belts not more.
These organisations are very greedy and will ruin boxing because with all their belts their on their way to doing just that.
