at first, i was really upset at the results from last night. upset that fury was robbed, and then upset that fury allowed the judges to rob him by not shutting things down in the twelfth.
in any case, i'm still upset, but more excited because for one, it's clear that the heavyweight division has made a comeback. we have at least three other superfights to look to: AJ-wilder, AJ-fury, and fury-wilder II. forget what loyalties and alliances you have, you can only be excited at these possibilities.
you have Wilder, the power puncher, Fury, the freak of nature, and then AJ, the musclebound, business-minded incumbent. then you have other fighters like ortiz, whyte, joe joyce, povetkin, and parker. then you have young guys like efe ajagba, daniel dubois, gorman, hunter, and a few others making noise.
hopefully these promoters and judges can get out of the way of us the fans enjoying what can truly be a great era of boxing.
ps i will never pay for any ppv that has any of those three judges from last night on the card anymore.
I think last night have us a sense that it might be back.
Realistically, top heavyweights are always good. There's no such thing as a weak era. They're good boxers (or vicious punchers).
What matters is whether they face each other. The golden era had that. The 90s had that. Now it looks like we might get that. Fury/Wilder has a trilogy written all over it if the rematch isn't a walkover one way or the other. And as long as Wilder fights long enough.
It's on Joshua now to make some fights.
Even though we have now cleared up who is the best at the weight, we are still now even further away from an undisputed champion then we were last night
Fury > Wilder
Fury > AJ
AJ >= Wilder
i would agree with you but its tough. clearly, right now, fury has the strongest claim to being the best heavyweight at the moment. but until fury follows this up with a win against AJ, it won't be undeniable.
AJ also now has to fight and beat either of them to regain that top spot. wilder, in my opinion, is done. he is in the top tier, but cannot ever be considered best unless he rematches fury and destroys him. he is only in that top tier because he has possibly the strongest power punch in boxing, although i have a feeling Efe ajagba will have something to say about that eventually.

I have said this before on here..... the division if live and even more-so since Fury came back and schooled Wilder.
We have 2 official champions and one of them just lost to the lineal which was scored a a draw.... then you have AJ who will give either guy a good fight.
Looking below that there is so many challengers and guys coming up - Pulev, Whyte, Ortiz stand out to me.
Then you have guys like H.Fury, Parker to come on the next few years.
Gorman, Hrgovic, Yoka, Dubois etc are the guys that will be knocking on the door in a years time.
