This drives me crazy. I'm not sure how ring size isn't standard yet and still negotiable. Imagine if a football field was 50 yards or if a basketball was played half court. I just don't understand simple things like ring size and glove size doesn't have a standard size yet.
I think you could have a standard ring size for age and weight classes, but not for the whole sport.
But I don’t think it’s that big an issue. In football (soccer) there is no standard size pitch. It just has to be within a range, and there are other examples as well. Depends on the sport.

You make a good point. It's probably because boxing doesn't have any proper unified governing body so everything is always up for negotiation.

Actually Wilder's team wanted 16x16 ft ring, while Fury's wanted 24x24 ft but they came to compromise - 20x20 ft ring.
And their you have it, Fury telegraphing his gameplan, stink, jab, run, rinse recycle, repeat. And folk wonder why tickets aren’t selling.
I like how you are jelly of my tremendous prediciton and is using passive aggressive posts because you are sadly coming to the realisiation that a windmiller is going to embarrass your hero in t - 48 hours :lol1::lol1:
Haha, it's ok bud, you enjoy watching Parker beat up a bum in some small field in NZ.
I'm pretty sure you predicted Wlad to KO Fury as well. :lol1:
I like how the prediction changed from Parker ruling the division to Parker becoming the first kiwi champion! :lol1: :lol1:
Nice work mate!

16 foot? No way would they allow two adult heaveyweights their size in a 16 foot ring.
Maybe Wilder asked for 16 foot playing mind games.

Thanks for the clarification. :boxing:
20x20 is kind of a non factor either way, it's neither small nor huge
I would have expected wilder to ask for a 16 foot ring tbh, 20 is still enough to move around in a fair bit

yeah a joseph parker who no one knew existed, who hadnt fought anyone inside the top 50+ in the world, predicting him to be the first ever Kiwi HW world champ and fighting AJ for the HW unification within 2-3 years was a terribile prediciton, i feel like such a mug now m8 :lol1:

Nice prediction, almost as good as your prediction of Joseph Parker ruling the HW division.

Hardly, Even if Fury stinks the place out and makes Grant miss with the windmills for 12 rounds he aient getting a decision. I think that will be a good enough victory either way, then he can claim he was the 'only one able to survive agaisnt Wilder', then it will be a 'if that was prime fury he would of schooled him' type drivel for eternity.
Then he will dine out on surving and cash in with the AJ payday.
hth m8 :)

It could happen yeah. 50/50 fight for me.

Dillian shyte probobly has more skill than Wilder :lol1:
Wilder is michael grant 2.0 and he is still going to ice your hero, sorry to tell you bud.

It's ok mate, you can watch a pair of unskilled bums knock holes out of each other on Dec 22, i know that's more your type of fight. :)

Yeah, if it was 24ft then Fury might be able to stink the place out enough to survive the distance.

Apparently it was Team Wilder who insisted on that size. Probably not a big deal, but i know a lot of people said Wlad made a big mistake by using a ring that size against a mover like Tyson.
I don’t think Fury will move in this fight as much. I reckon he will try to fight inside and dirty. Wilder is less effective when he doesnt have space to drop his bomb.
But we shall see Saturday. I think waiting to see the game plans both fighters employ will be very interesting.
