Still disagree with your thread, but appreciate the good luck. Had to take some time out the game so now back in the gym getting rid of the ring rust before making it 2-1. :boxing:
But it fits into my point, it's easier to get different sparring now & there are more potential opponents even than there was a few years ago. Think becoming an Olympic sport was the first real boost & now it's the increased exposure for the pro game. Women's boxing is in a healthy spot & it's just gonna keep growing.
Okay I wish you well on your next bout. You failed to bring up one thing I mentioned.. That being education.. Have something to fall back on if boxing doesn't pan out for you. Peace
Bone density is so apparent. Smaller gloves and 3mins rds would do more justice.
I think the only people who don't want 3 minute rounds are the WBC. It's gonna change eventually though, it has to. With 2 minute rounds you can just feel like you've hit your rhythm & then suddenly the round is over - it ain't enough time to do your work & show what you can do. Obviously you're gonna get a lot more stoppages once that change comes in & more fan friendly fights.
Amber is a bit biased. :)
Good luck on your pro career. It looks like your 1-1.
I'd suggest an education to go with it. So if boxing doesn't work, you have something to fall back on. Like Juan Díaz

Either women's boxing has to be competitive or they should ditch it. It's always some mismatch, I wonder who's going to win this one..
It's probably about the same as men's boxing. I'd estimate that 75% of Men's headliners have odds of 3/1 or higher on the 'dog.... I put up the Pick 'Em threads (which include the odds at the time of posting) and if I only ever did fights where there wasn't a clear favourite the Pick 'ems would be real thin on the ground. Thing is only the real stars of female boxing ever get televised - and these ladies are either so much better than their competition that it's a mismatch or they're being set up to look good. You never get to see the more competitive filler fights that would usually make up the rest of a card in men's fights.
I much rather watch women in MMA. At least it kind of looks more attractive with them on top of each other in skin tight sport wear. In boxing they don't look attractive at all and there is something about them boxing that I don't find too appealing. I think the women in these combat sports have an extra ounce of testosterone that I'd rather not see a woman have, lol.
I suppose I should feel the same about them in MMA, but again, them laying on top of each other and whatnot gives it an extra layer not found in boxing, lol.
This wins the award for stupidest comment I've ever read.
Boxing for you is about how sexy the two fighters are? There are legitimate complaints about women's boxing but "they're not attractive enough" can not be a real one, what a joke. I can see how that would be a plus, but whether or not you enjoy their fights should not have anything to do with that.
Females can be good at MMA. They're flexible and sneaky, which is good for grappling on the ground, and they have those long legs and big butts which are great for delivering kicks.
But they're just not built for boxing. Women boxing is like men belly dancing.
Bone density is so apparent. Smaller gloves and 3mins rds would do more justice.
Pretty ignorant thread to throw shade at the whole of women's boxing just cus a late replacement got outclassed. Last night was supposed to be Shields-Hammer which would've been a real fight & hopefully they get it on next time.
Women's boxing is finally getting exposure & it's only gonna get bigger from here. Right now it still lacks a little depth at the very elite level but time will change that. More and more women and girls are turning up at boxing gyms now of all different ages & abilities, I see that at my gym first hand. It's booming - give it time & let it grow.
This is true. Went to a show earlier and every young lady got matched. 4 of the 16 fights were girls!
Tell that to my 5 yr old daughter and she would probably go for the K/O.
I know it might not be interesting to you guys but if your involved with a female fighter it becomes alot more exciting.
Maybe put the women's fight at the start of a card or in the middle not just before main.
Live and learn.
1 of my sons plays basketball for his Jr. High. The girls game starts right before the boys and I dread that we have to get their early. BUT when I go to local boxing shows, the young girls show so much enthusiasm, it makes them fun for the crowd. Good luck to you and your daughter!
Looks more attractive? Y'all realize this ain't no Victoria's Secret fashion show, right? I thought this was the fight game but I guess if attractiveness is what we're scoring on then Big Baby Miller & Tyson Fury should retire immediately.

Tyson Fury is the Golden God. Any man would give up his testicles to be as devilishly handsome as the Gypsy King. On another note I actually watch female boxing because I think Taylor is a spectacular talent and I’ve been following Shields since ams (Little disappointed from her so far) and the fights just aren’t as interesting.
Not their fault since they definitely go at it but if it doesn’t entertain that much it’s understandable that people are gonna trash it on an already mismatched card.
Need more Women who can punch...WITH AUTHORITY for Women Boxing to become more popular. You need a Christy Martin or Ann Wolfe in this ERA who can deliver devastation KO's

A Female KNOCK OUT ARTIST in this ERA would become a SUPERSTAR. I don't give a damn about what the female fighter look like this aint no damn beauty pageant it is boxing so she don't have to be "PRETTY" just as long as she can AGAIN throw punches with some damn Authority and get her opponent out. Female Boxing pay sucks so you likely won't get a Cyborg to come to boxing full time over her MMA Career but Women Boxing need a fighter like her...

You can describe most of boxing this way - it's not exclusive to the women.
It's the same formula repetitively - low risk, protect, low risk, protect, cash out.

I don't agree I love me some Women Boxing I watched all the Laila Ali, Christy Martin, Mia St John, Belinda Laracuente, Holly Holm, Cecilia Braekus, Anne Wolfe etc fights and I like the new girls we got some talent in Boxing's Women's ranks with Hammer, Shields, Hardy, Serrano's and a grip more. I actually look forward to the fights I can't wait for Shields VS Hammer and Shields VS Braekus
They should have appearance requirements for girl boxing and have them box with tiitiies hanging out. That’ll boost up the rating.
Until then, i dont give a fuk about no girl boxing. Id rather see them in a naked cook off or some sht.
