THIS IS TURNING INTO A JOKE HE'S ONE THE BEST TO EVER FIGHT WHY IS HE PLAYING WITH HIS LEGACY AT THIS POINT!!?? looks like even gayweather jr doesn't know what he's doing. No fight is happening.
To add a little extra sheen onto his prestigious legacy?
In all seriousness, why should he stop taking on easy opponents, if he can still make more in one fight than most make in a career? That kind of money is impossible to ignore. What do you want him to do? Slip quietly into middle age, passing up on a few hundred million dollars worth of easy money? Why retire, when he can still add wins and collect money?
Nobody gives a chit what the fans really think, they'll still pay.
But if he keeps popping in and out eventually he will get beat by a weak opponent and his undefeated legacy will be tarnished
He wants to be a world champion ie fighting around world.
Plus he wants to be remembered and wants to have talking point in his career like Ali v inoki.
I mean if you don't think any of his fights were memorable hopefully you will remember when he fought Connor or tension?
For some reason, it happens to all the greats. They all fight past their legacy and get whooped. It's inevitable
Nowadays, might be better to go out in the ring and get your ass whooped for a proper send off.
Ali quit on his stool. Oscar quit on his stool. Bernard blasted out of the ring. Chavez beat to **** by average fighters during his final years. Tyson losing to a bunch of average bums before retiring. Roy Jones getting Knocked out every fight in the end. More and more examples.
No shame really. Like a lion that has to fend off a new young hungry lion out in the wild.
I'm merely saying legacy's matter more for fans than fighters/athletes.
Fighters care about taking care of themselves & their family. You can't buy sh^t with legacy. Legacy does come with the money doe.
Yeah those who are not working their butts off care more of what others achieved.
Those who are not taking any risks care more lol
Not to sound cheesy, but most successful fighters dreamed to be a champ, dreamed to achieve things.. dreamed to carve their name and be part of history... and money only came with the territory.
Maybe you’re referring to cab driver level fighters whose only motivation is some money, and that’s why they’re at that level in the first place.
The proudest guy when a fighter becomes a champ is himself, or his mom or his wife.
So nope the fans don’t care more. I know for sure I don’t care more.
Anyway, good talking to you... I’m sure you’re one of the decent guys here as I often read your posts.

$88 million for an exhibition bout against a Jr featherweight is more than understandable, even if there's something pleasing about seeing a fighter ride off into the sunset a la Lennox Lewis.
A kickboxing match is a different story, I don't think anyone really wants to see the guy taking shin kicks to the temple at 41 years old.
Hopefully he's not that stupid/broke.
Okay, but wtf are you even talking about then? You are typing a lot of words saying nothing.
But yea Jordan's last stint with Washington was widely considered trash. Okay he was still scoring points, but he's Jordan he's the king of scoring & those last 2 seasons were the worst 2 of his career.
Legacy don't mean sh^t. Legacy's are sold all day every day by the mfers who created that legacy for himself. Its hard to kill a legacy.
You’re the one downplaying legacy at the same time recognizing them wtf. I’m out
low risk-high reward. If idiots made Mayweather-McGregor a PPV mega success, why would Floyd not continue to fight these low risk-high reward opponents?
I don't really get where you are going with this. You act like Floyd discovered reducing your legacy. Jordan diminished his legacy too with his sh^tty comeback. Damn near every other great fighter who didn't die young stuck around too long & diminished their legacy. Its fairly standard sh^t.
Only way Floyd would diminish his legacy if he comes back in the boxing ring and fights algieri, or horn or salka.. where he’ll still be a huge favorite even at this point.. then losses badly.
Not some circus and exhibition like this outside boxing, can do anything to what he’s carved, as much as I don’t like him doing it.
If Jordan came back and and averaged 2-8 points yes it would have been bad for his legacy, but nope he was still slicing the league like cake with 40-50 points.
Pac staying around is bad for his legacy, as he’s losing to horn level fighters when he was viewed like a God 8-10 years ago
