The revisionist history is funny...Froch retired he didn't AVOID Golovkin.
He was past prime and struggled through two fights with Groves, which prob told him it was time to hang them up. He was tempted by the GGG fight and opted against it because of the above, I think it was a fight he prob thought he could win, but wasn't sure and didn't want to taint his legacy by going on too long, the warning signs in the Groves fights were there...that isn't avoiding. It's like saying Joe Calzaghe ducked Froch or Chad Dawson...stupid.
As far as the fight goes, there paths didn't really come together, but if Froch was a couple of years younger when the fight was mooted than I like him heavily. He has massive physical advantages, good jab, power and doesn't get tired.
I still think there is an element of myth in terms of what GGG is capable of, he would struggle against top 168lbers, his style wouldn't translate well going up in weight...hell he struggles enough with top 154-160 lbers. Froch is a HOF 168lber, stylistically I see where the GGG advocates are coming from, but I just don't see how he would pull it off personally
Moving up 8 pounds might have lessened GGG's power a little bit but not that much. A devastating puncher at 160 is still a very hard puncher at 168. It's sort of like saying Jermall or Canelo no longer can punch hard since they moved up from 154 to 160 or that Spence wouldn't still be a big puncher at 154. Froch would damn sure be hurt by flush GGG punches.
Froch was never really hurt.
Your opinion on the outcome of any fight GGG is in is too hate filled and bias to even count. You would even pick Mikey to beat GGG. If Froch is too big and powerful and straight up murders GGG then Froch also straight up murders Canelo since GGG really beat Canelo twice. If you disagree that GGG deserved to win both Canelo fights then what was your scorecard for the two GGG vs Canelo fights. I have asked you that many times but you never answer. Come on, man, here is a chance for you to say how badly you think Canelo beat GGG.
Are you implying that Canelo would beat Froch using triangle theories?
Canelo will be pummelled helplessly if he steps in the ring with Callum Smith, Prime Froch beats smith imo
I think Smith would put a beating on GGG too, I just can’t see GGG being able stand and trade with Froch, just like he wouldn’t trade with ginger balls

Great post. No doubt.
People with elite defense give ggg problems. Frotch is there to be hit. Groves dropped him twice. GGG would have a field day on him. Not too mention ggg has a better jab and much better defense on the outside.
Froch would have been waaay too big for GGG... In SMW, GGG's punches wouldn't have been hard enough to slow down Froch, who was always in tip top shape and even stronger in the ladder rounds.Moving up 8 pounds might have lessened GGG's power a little bit but not that much. What if Froch had accepted the challenge few years ago.. Froch is a clutch fighter and I always thought he would have beaten GG.
Thoughts?
Froch would have gotten KTFO. Which is why he dodged the fight......like the plague.....as he, himself described it.
Froch straight up Murders GGG! Too Big Too Powerful!Your opinion on the outcome of any fight GGG is in is too hate filled and bias to even count. You would even pick Mikey to beat GGG. Prime GGG batters any version of Froch. Froch is bigger but too hittable and technically limited.
Golovkin is the much better fighter and stops him late.

Thoughts?GGG by KO in my opinion. Froch was almost KOed by Taylor and just barely beat Dirrell. GGG is just a much better fighter. GGG hits harder and takes a punch better and throws more punches per round. Froch has been down and hurt several times while GGG has never been down or hurt. With his great left jab GGG would win the rounds forcing Froch to go for a knock out and that would get Froch knocked out. There is nobody Froch ever beaten that GGG would not have beaten quicker and easier in my opinion.
Froch himself said that he couldnt beat GGG, avoid him like the plague etc. He got offered alot of money for the fight and GGG would have travelled to his backyard and Froch still passed on that fight. Thats all you need to know.
Exactly this...
Froch was NEVER serious about taking that fight.
Deep down he knew what would’ve happened.
What if calzage didn’t turn down the froch fight,
All ifs and buts. Froch has an unbelievable end of career, once he joined matchroom Eddie’s matchmaking was supreme really.
Apart from Yusuf Mack...
