What or who do you think is actually preventing this fight? Im sure that neither spence or crawford is “afraid” of the other. I know Spence is with pbc/showtime and bud is with tr/espn. Surely this fight can be worked out between both parties, so what do you really think is preventing this fight from happening?
Is there not enough money in this fight yet? Usually when there is a ton of money to be made networks and promoters will get the fight done. Crawford just had over 2 million viewers vs benvanidez. If im not mistaken, i believe spence had around 700-800,000 views vs ocampo.
Does this mean that spence needs to raise his profile more in order for it to be a much bigger fight?
You have arum dropping spences name now left and right and for some reason im starting to think he really does want to make this fight. He is 87 years old now i think, he isnt getting any younger but then again its bob fkn arum we are talking about..
Could it be that haymon is nervous to put one of if not his very best boxer in the ring vs bud?
What do you think is really preventing this fight?
your saying haymon done it a dozen times? who are the 12?
The were sent out of the usual orbit?
Charles Martin, Gervonta Davis, Errol Spence Jr, Lamont Peterson, Eleider Alvarez, John Molina, Felix Diaz, and Nonito Donaire, and that's just off the top of my head
your saying haymon done it a dozen times? who are the 12?
he cant name ONE, much less 12........
I asked him to name ONE time Haymon let a A-list fighter go fight a voluntary fight on someone elses show. His response was "but but but but Pacquiao Arum doe"
The only issue with trying to say that everyone does the isolation bit, is that it's not true; Haymon has sent his dozen or so guys away from the orbit of promoters that he does regular business with for the right fight, RocNation sent Andre Ward to fight on a Main Events bill, Guillermo Rigondeaux to fight on a Top Rank bill and Luis Arias to fight on a Matchroom Sport USA bill. Heck, Oscar De La Hoya served up Linares to Top Rank when his only other bankable fighter is Canelo.
Not every fighter is sent everywhere, but to ignore the movement is disingenuous.
Bob Arum voluntarily sends no one anywhere, and that's been the case for years at this point.
Outside of the Pacquiao fight (where Arum *****ed the entire time while seeing ~$150m run through his company for just being there), and maybe the Ricky Burns vs Terence Crawford fight, there's literally not a single other example to point too, lol.
To try and argue a pox on all houses is silly
your saying haymon done it a dozen times? who are the 12?
well duh, thats because promoters typically dont do it. I didnt jump into this thread saying its all Haymons fault, because they ALL do it, whether its Arum, GBP, Haymon, or whoever.
YOU are the one trying to pin it on Arum, as if Haymon doesnt do the exact same thing.......

I was up in the air about it, but I now see Spence winning. I was surprise how Crawford was getting tagged last Saturday, and surprising he also did not seem as fast as I remembered, which is why he was getting cleanly countered many times.
Will look into the Ricky Burns vs Terence Crawford fight that was mentioned by a different poster, but it's utterly hilarious that you can't mention a single Top Rank fighter, besides Pacquiao, whose been sent to fight under another promoter's banner without being forced to move to fight, lol.
Not even one, A-list or otherwise, lol

that was a mando that was heading to purse bid. We are talking about voluntary fights, unifications, etc.
And instead of deflecting back to Arum, just admit that in 4 years, there is not a SINGLE EXAMPLE of Haymon letting an A-list fighter do a voluntary fight or unification on a different promoters show

Al Haymon has almost literally sent a dozen of his fighters out to fight on cards for promoters outside of his orbit, without being forced to by a mandatory.
Can argue about whether the fighter is A-list or not, but Gervonta Davis, going over to the UK, to fight a Frank Warren fighter, on a Frank Warren show, in Frank's fighter's home city, didn't happen all that long ago.
Errol Spence Jr, flying to Sheffield, to fight Kell Brook, wasn't that long ago either.
Outside of Manny Pacquiao for the Floyd fight, you can't point to a single time when Bob Arum has sent any fighter anywhere else that he wasn't forced to send.

Spence has no size advantage over Crawford. Spence weighed 156 on fight night for his last fight and Crawford weighed 157 on fight night for Horn. Spence needs no size advantage to beat Crawford because he is a better fighter, He hits harder, takes a punch better and throws more punches per round. He will KO Crawford in my opinion. Crawford lost a round or two on the cards to that mediocre guy he just fought but he will win ever round against Spence? No, Crawford will get knocked out just like everybody else who fought Spence in the last few years. MAN DOWN!
That "mediocre" guy was undefeated and called a child prodigy. Spence has beaten washed up dudes, he was losing to Brook before he hurt him. Pederson was in his prime in 2009 for crying out loud. Old man Bundu was like 42 when Spence fought him, lolol....and Chris Algeiri? Come on now and Occampo is just a little kid who had fought nobody.
Smoke and mirrors man, smoke and mirrors. Bud will tactically set him up for counters, have the better foot placement, lead Spence into bad spots. Too many easy matches won't set him up for success against an elite boxing tactician like Bud. :boxing:
When has Arum sent any fighter to a rival promoter's show where he wasn't forced to?
He sent Crawford to Scotland to win his first title - there was a purse bid but they ended up making an agreement to fight on a Hearn promoted show
and Haymon does???
Tell me ONE fight in the past 4 years where Haymon let one of his A-list guys go fight a voluntary fight on a rival promoters show. Just ONE.
I'll wait.......

Spence don't want that smoke, that's what's holding up the fight. Bud figures him out and uses his own aggression against him, picks him apart and schools him down the stretch.
every fight is a risk, but brook was a calculated risk, dont forget spence was the favorite in that fight in kells backyard. I think everyone on spence side already knew he would beat brook. The bud fight is a true 50/50 fight in my book but i believe spence kos him inside 8. i agree with everything else u said tho.
Spence is the favorite against anybody right now, that's what happens when you are the best. He'd be the favorite against Crawford as well!

I think the only one was Jacobs when he fought GGG. Was he still with Haymon then?
It's simple; Bob Arum doesn't play well with others, regardless of what he gets the media to spin for him.
On the merits, Spence-Crawford is a near 50/50 fight (Crawford hasn't looked great a 147lbs, while Spence has sawed through 147lbs with eyes open to 154+). The easiest way to do things would be to sit down, look over the books to get to where the split would be fair, and then have both camps, together, max out the pie. US TV would be put up to bid, and the broadcaster willing to guarantee the most money would get the event.
The problem with that is that too much of that would be taken out of Arum's hands, and his guy could legitimately get beat (leaving him with the bag and no chit to dictate anything at 147lbs with).
Arum is the problem and will always be the problem.

Not true, he sent Spence to England to fight Kell Brook, who I think is a decent fighter, if that is not a risk I don't know what is. It's Crawford who has fought no real challenges. I consider Lamont Peterson more of a challenge than anyone Crawford is facing

I am a hugee spence fan, he is my favorite fighter and with that being said, everyone in the inner boxing circles know that spence is haymons golden child or “next floyd” He doesnt let anyone near spence. I am quite sure that haymon is just as nervous as bob is about his golden child fight crawford in a 50-50 fight.
