SUGAR RAY LEONARD believes Anthony Joshua's defining fight would be against Deontay Wilder. And the ring great has urged the British heavyweight star to travel across to America to become a global superstar. WBA, IBF, IBO and WBO champion Joshua wants to face WBC title holder Wilder at Wembley in April after their teams failed to agree a deal for them to meet this year. Click Here To Read More]
First let me say Leonard-Hagler-Hearn-Duran is my fav era of boxing. Leonard, himself had dealt with a detatched retina, and Hagler had SIGNIFICANTLY slowed down in his penultimate fight with Leonard. SRL was ringside, and he saw that was a match made in heaven for preserving his record and cementing his legacy. It was Hagler's fight to win, and we know the rest.
Five-weight world champion Leonard believes Joshua needs to make the trip across the Atlantic if he wants to be remembered as a world great.
Joshua would rather have 80,000 fans in the UK, and make $20 million dollars, vice 15,000 fans in Las Vegas, and make $50 million dollars! It is what it is!
Some will say, "Why should he go to Las Vegas?" They asked notorious Bank Robber Slick Willie Sutton, "Why do you rob banks?" His reply, "Because that's where the money is at!"

And heres you.
True. NO ONE can argue with Leonard on this one. Only a few idiots on this forum. But both Leonard and Ali were GLOBAL superstars in boxing. They were household names and recognized at the top of sports in general, ALL over the world. Joshua or Wilder aren’t there yet. Wilder going over to UK is actually a smart move on his part. And if Wilder wins and continues to have some fights overseas, it will only enhance his Global brand. If Joshua beats Wilder, he needs to have some title defenses in the USA to build his global brand and be a household name. And not just a superstar in boxing, but a superstar of all major sports like Leonard and Ali was. And like Michael Jordan in the NBA was.
Another legend shames GayJ!

Spot on from Sugar but the man running Joshua's career is an accountant and don't be fooled into thinking his name is Eddie!
As the old dog Hearn said Joshua's on a seven year plan' and the fight with Wilder should marinade for another two years......scary for boxing fans but this is who this prick is!
Fury wins by 5th round TKO.
Just remember what he did to Chisora’s face while fighting an entire fight as a southpaw. He’ll do the same but Wilder hasn’t got Chisora’s chin
Many are saying that! But after I whoop that ass, don't turn around and call this a cherry pick. You can't have it both ways--either Fury is a worthy challenger or he isn't. But we all know he is.
Ortiz and Joshua are maybe the only other men in the division to give Fury a competitive fight, and I believe he'd UD both of them easily.
I think AJ and Ortiz both drop Fury. Fury and Ortiz are arguably the best boxers in the division but Fury isn't skilled enough to evade their shots for the whole fight. They will catch him at some point.
Heck, I expect "you" to finish the job off when you land!
But also Fury fans think he can box like Ali, so lets remember that too. Fury has better boxing skills than Wilder, but is not a good enough boxer to keep Wilder off of him. A shot Wlad couldn't pull the trigger, but Wilder will often enough to land. He landed on Ortiz, who is much more skilled than Fury, and a southpaw to boot.
I was having this convo with my brother who favours Fury. I said exactly this.
I expect Wilder to catch Fury and when he does, I expect him to finish him off.
Wilder might not get past fury, lets not forget the bookies had fury as favourite initially. People acting like wilder is unbeatable lol, he's a limited boxer with a big punch, therea fighters like him in every division and theres always a night where that big punch never lands
